I'm sure everyone will have their own favourite parts of the new game. I've started this thread so we can share screenshots of them. Here's my first effort. A game of tag that looks more like a conga line. I counted 24 kids on the screen, and there were another half dozen coming along behind.

I think the reason she could't see the collectible was if she had just turned 14 then it will pop up the message in the info bar on the bottom, that "only children can see collectibles"

one way would be to
1. create a free account on imageshack or photobucket,
2. upload your pictures there, then
3. create a response here and
4. embed your image using the image button (third one from left in the response button toolbar)

I took 20 screenshots of different parts of the island and pasted and aligned them all up in photoshop. Took me around a half hour uninterrupted to do it.

Here's all my totems so far with their elders.
Unfortunately, 2 have passed on, Trip was the first (I named him trip after a Star Trek character and he ended up having a son that the game named Sulu! ROFL Any trekkies will love that.) and Bubby was the second. After that it's hard to tell.

I keep my 5 little 2 year old villagers on pause mostly and scan for mushrooms and collectibles. It's been a couple days. The food bin was on 0. They must have just been born when the mothers died. I didn't get the log on it... I was in a rush when it happened and my RW kids switched out the village so I don't know what happened except that I left it on 2x accidently overnight!
Once I get enough mushrooms in the bin I will let them age and eat... hehehe I'll keep ya posted

Hello,
I'm new to this. How do you take pic's of your screen?
On the top right of the keyboard there should be a key that says something like "print screen". Just click on that, then go into an image editor program (paint will work fine) and paste. Then just trim away some of the edges to make it nice and neat.

This picture requires some backstory. First of all, all my parents are in blue. Secondly, what you can't see here is one male villager (NOT a parent) 'behind' all the ladies. Apparently, he is by far everyone's favorite. But what's really odd is that all the women are 'embracing' that guy, moving in a constant conga line left and right. I guess they embrace him, get so far to the love shack, see he is still standing there waiting for someone else, move back, embrace him again, head to the love shack in the other direction, rinse and repeat. They've been doing this for about 2 minutes now. No idea how much longer it will go on.

This is a group picture of all my little villagers lined up by age. Youngest to oldest. My village started with 2 boys, 5 girls. One of the ones circled was an original villager and was only 14 when I started. The female villager in the circle is also one of my original islanders who was about 10. The rest of of them were born on the island. After 19 births, I have only had 2 boys.
Please also notice that currently every female who is over 18 and under 50 currently has a baby. I think someone had a little too much fun while I was at Wal-Mart. And whoever the daddy is, he is really, really good, 7 of the villagers Nursing for 60 minuets. One person got 7 people preg at the same time!
Also seeing a pattern in their dress. I have not built the sewing hut yet. All 5 of the girls in the pink dress were born with that dress. And my 3 youngest all look just alike.
Can't wait to see if any of these new babies are boys! Hoping for some variety!

It was a mod made by Charley. He has a link to it in the guides section, and you can also download it off my site (the link is in my sig). It's called the seasonal mod.

What's wrong with this picture?
I had just rung the gong and then saw a villager in need of healing. In the mayhem of all the villagers admiring the gong I grabbed the first person I knew could heal. This guy is SO lazy. I picked him especially to be that all important doctor and he couldn't care less. I saw him doing everything from laundry to cooling his feet in the stream. Except studying the herbs. I was very surprised when I logged on the game and saw he had made it to adept doctor. I was very close to making him a special stew but decided to give him one last chance at the research table. He likes researching so he can stay for now. But the poor old lady waiting to be healed is Moma and she is 70 years old and very nice. She doesn't deserve such a treatment!

Christi, when you are sending a message, make sure you are in the reply stage with all the smilys, and buttons. The quick reply window and the bottom of the thread wont do, either click "reply" at the end of the thread, or click the "reply bitton at the top. then right above where your type your post theres some icons, one of the icons looks like paper with colored bubbles on it, press that and insert the http:// address supplied to the specific picture from the photo sharing site.
Edited:: ohhh i was too slow and you had allready figured it out, but rather then delete the post, i will just leave it for future newbies. as long as they can find it lol. well dont Christi.

I could well be wrong here, but I've not noticed that a dislike of turnips prevents villagers from harvesting crops. I also notice that he's a runner, so any time spent running away would be be proportionately less than a 'normal' villager would spend. It has taken him a while longer than most to reach master, but he's made it, despite his phobias. You should be proud of him!

took him till he was 49, so that should be a bit of a givaway, most runners have their first master by 25, at least on my game they do, so he prolly ran way ran away till there was a coconut to pick and then picked that and gained skill and somtimes did a wide berth of the turnips, and picked carrots and tomatos etc(at least thats what they look like to me, tomatos lol) either way, well done

This first image is i came on and got a "day to honour the dead" event, ok fine, i let it run went to do somthing came back these guys were still here cause their old, but then an hour later they were still at it, lol stuck had to actually remove them myself to get them out of the constant loop lol.
This is my Master farmer that i put on farming and not realised his dislikes, but yet he never ran away, not once, huh guess its not really a dislike then. lol

I'm sure it's the same way in VV2, since I doubt that anyone would want to start coding a sequel from scratch. =P

Jem and the Holograms. Jem aka Jerrika and her friends made up the Holograms with the help of a compter named Synergy. Jerrika's boyfriend was Rio.

I used to watch, too. And I have the DVDs now (alas, not all episodes have been released on dvd). Did you know that all the Holograms were named after real experts in the field of holography at the time (last names, of course)? One is Emmett Leith (and that's Asa's last name and Kimber and Jerrica's dad is Emmett) and another was Dr. Benton. In fact, if you google some of those names now, you'll see links to the scientists. My favorite character is Kimber - she just seems to sparkle.
BTW, what happened to the village of two-year-olds?

I'm not sure where this text will come up, but anyway. Most of these are pretty self expanitory. The last one- Caia is the mom obviously. The guys are the dads, and the others are the monstor tweetybird children they have brought forth. You can't really see it, but all three of them have the same face.

It has to be done manually. You need to click on each one and save the url for it, and use that url when you press the Enter an Image button. Unfortunately, I don't really have time to fix all of those for you.

FINALLY, one of my villagers mastered all 5 skills! I started her off on healing at age 4 so she was apprentice at 14, but everything else was done the hard way. Good thing she liked learning.

This is Aika's family picture; she was trying to be an esteemed elder by mastering in parenting. Population was maxed, and she was kissing that guy like crazy. Finally she got her totem, went to the hut, and came out with a baby; but it seems that some villager died just before her last kiss-- with one shot she both had a baby and a totem.

Triple trouble: Kappa-Kinga-Kiki. They are actually my first triplets, but in an island event Kinga drank stg and changed a little. Kiki has become one of the 50 esteemed elders later, and earned herself an esteemed elder dress, others couldn't make it.

I have 2 sets of triplets & 2 sets of twins at the moment. I have posted pics of now & then. Only 1 set of triplets in older picture. Red head holding 2nd set of twins also.Mine have'nt got to esteemed yet though. I had an older villager which drank some liquid & changed also but she looked much better than before she reached E.E but as died since. I do have 3 runners at the moment 2 adults & 1 child.

For Windows:
When you want to take a picture, hit the print screen button. Then close the game (or minimize it) and open Microsoft Photo Editor. Open the edit menu at the top, and click paste as new image. It'll come up and you can edit it or just save it.
P.S MPE is part of Microsoft Office. If you don't have it, use your Paint program. You won't be able to edit it as much, BTW.

I once had a tribe in which I named each villager after towns/cities in New Jersey. Please see the linked PDF file that tells the story of a special stew that one villager prepared. Make sure you look at all 8 pages. Enjoy!

Finally i got the "Grants Vision" from the gong, heres what you see, just wish i knew which villager it was. Its an elder, cause shes in white, which is ironic cause shes a ghost lmao.

This is Hoya, shes 69 years old, Thanks to the gong, shes now 5 and an elder, this will make things fun. lets see if i can get all 5 skills mastered. By the way, those parents of hers, are long gone, and so is one of her children, he was a victim of another gong effect. irony seems to be in my cards today.

The male villagers below are all brothers. Two of them are twins, but the other two were single births. I changed their outfits so that they all look identical. This is my favorite male villager and I want future tribespeople to look like him. Therefore, they're all working on their parenting skills, even though my population is at its max (need one more shell to increase it by 5). There are other identical villagers too, they're just not pictured here because they're taking a break from embracing and are enjoying the pond or helping the farmers. Anyway, here's a little story....
The lady in the upper right is named Zen. She's 48 (the oldest female villager still in breeding age) and is a trainee doctor and never gets a chance to study the plants or heal people. All of the brothers continually embrace her and then go in the lovely hut at the same time. First, #1 embraces her, kisses her, and begins to walk towards the hut. While she's walking with him, #2 wants to embrace her, so she stops to wait for him. This happens with each brother and it creates a pretty funny scene as you see below.
There's also another female master parent in the tribe who goes in the lovely hut with her chosen male villager at the same time that these brothers are mating with Zen. Too bad none of them can actually produce offspring while my collections are incomplete!

Ahh depends, not sure what you mean by skin. lol
But heres my newest pic, i built this fairy at a neo site(dont worry i have rights to it), and copied it to photoshop and placed it aroung the VV things with a pretty background then played with the graphics for awhile. I know it looks like a drawing that somone colored with pencil crayons, think it looks cool.

Was going to add this to the Fathers day contest page, but i didnt realise it had finished allready lol, so ill add it here, with a small explaination, this is what i found when i opened the game. only 2 of those women were mothers, the rest got preggo from the one guy who is an elder with parenting skills. lol one was my only doc so i was quick to teach a new one. thought it was funny. and those 2 women on the side are the only breedable aged women left without babies lol.

Im acually using a combination of a couple of Village_monks, and Charleys(aka Kasey) Mods, I liked the totem designs of one, and the flowers of another, and colors from this, but basically i patched it all together lol. id acually have to go file by file to tell you what i was using. I dont always like to follow the crowd, and i may me inept at making my own, but i can patch real well. lol

That often happens immediately after a mother has "dropped" her baby at 2 years old and it runs away. The mother carries on with her last task for a while, then realses the baby has gone and returns to normal.

Looking at your picture ann looks like you took a picture with you camera then downloaded into the computer,,, just so you know you can take a screen shot (prt scr sysrq button above the delete button on your keyboard) and then Paste it into paint, or any other art program. prolly would be easier then taking a photo and downloading it.

Pressing PrtSc only copies the screen to the Windows clipboard. You have to immediately paste it into an image editing program, such as MS Paint. There are step-by-step instructions in
this post.

I have done it I know how its done I still got a few teething problams as I noticed after saving the pictures in paint, the blank box on the side so I will have to edit it out or maybe write something in. I've had that happen a few times. Was the kids near the clothes hut 'It'? I think that he is stuck running along the top and side of the hut, and you just caught him standing that way mid-run.

Yes, it's "it"! Each time they play tag around the hospital, "it" runs along the sewing hut. When the hut is not yet build, with just the foundations, he goes near the hut and... goes back with the other kids!

That's not necessarily the GC! Izzy, are you using VV or VV2? There is a guy that has that head in VV2, and there isn't a GC in VV2.

That sort of thing happens all the time. She was "Enjoying the pond" and then decided to go fishing. A villager's action line changes the moment they decide to do something, regardless of where they are. If you had watched her, you would have seen her head off to the ocean to fish. Of course, this particular game behavior makes for some hilarious screen shot possibilities, as many have demonstrated already in this thread.

I wish I had taken a pic, but I had a villager that disliked running, swimming a birds. An island event made him switch places with my Master Farmer and the little scamp kept running from the fish and crops. Nearly starved the villagers while I trained another.
It was actually really funny to watch.

Okay, so I know that when you leave the game for a while, when you open it again, it will automatically decide what should have happened while you were gone. Also, sometimes the babies that are born are grouped so that there are two or more children with the same mother and different fathers that are the same age. I've seen that a few times, but never like this:
Surely you must concede that this is a bit of an oddity.
(When I first saw these kids, I though they were twins.)

I've had this happen before but I thought I'd post about it again. I had the 'fastest runner in the village' event, which, provided I answer the question the right way, makes the villager a runner. Only problem was, Kayak was already a runner ...
Now he's a 'double runner'. Trouble is, he doesn't run any faster.

Yes, I wondered that, too! It's happened to me two or three times, plus fairly often to non-runners. It's never happened to a villager who dislikes running for me, though. I don't intend to answer the wrong way so the runner becomes both a liker and disliker of running, though. I suppose in the spirit of scientific enquiry I should, but, naaah!

One of my villagers, Mau, died and just as his skeleton appeared the guy who was standing next to him, Ongo, started dancing! And Ongo kept on dancing until someone came and picked up Mau's skeleton! Then Ongo stopped and walked away.

Farmers who dislike turnips, I've seen posted, can be put to work on the opposite side of the farm, and they'll still work. I haven't tried this myself, but it's been posted.
