You've probably heard of Oscar Wilde's novel The Picture of Dorian Gray, in which the title character stays young and beautiful, but his portrait ages.

Well, my first mayor has aged and turned grey and finally left for "the island" (whatever that is), but her secretary is still as young as when the mayor took office, and so are all the townspeople. It's bad enough that I have to clean up after the whole town -- that people can't mow their own lawns or put their own trash in the trash can -- but I AGE for the entire town?! Wow, that's ... freaky. Or creepy. Or something like that. :-)

No WONDER this town has a hard time keeping mayors! I'd get out, too! ;-)
