We are very pleased to announce that we are making a significant improvement to the way that we provide customer support to our fans! After working very hard behind the scenes to get everything set up, we have just launched Phase 1 of our new help desk software implementation, which is powered by Zendesk.
Starting today, the old "Support Form" that we have been using for years is gone, and all support requests initiated from our Support FAQ will go to our new help desk software. This new help desk software will improve the reliability of our communications with our customers and provide faster response to people who need help with our games. This change does not affect our LDW forums, so you can continue to come here for community discussion and game questions.
Although the customer support features are all in place now, we are still adding content to the other areas of the site. We will continue to add new content until our entire FAQ/Knowledge Base is fully migrated. Once that process is complete, we will "retire" our existing Support FAQ, since the FAQ/Knowledge Base area of the new site has a very robust search feature that will help you find answers much more quickly than you can with our existing Support FAQ.
Again, we are very excited to be able to offer you better customer support, and we welcome any feedback you have for us on how it's working!

We are very pleased to announce to all of you that we will be releasing Virtual Villagers: Origins for iOS. This game is based on the Virtual Villagers game that started it all! Not only is it the full game for free, to make it even more fun and interesting, we have added exciting new features never before available in a Virtual Villagers game. Have you ever wanted to make one (or all) of your villagers like running? Or maybe you can't get enough of those Island Events! Well now you can make some special things like this happen in the game! You can use your tribe's extra tech points to do some fun things in Virtual Villagers: Origins!
No purchases are required to get the whole game for free. It is a thank you to our fans, and hopefully will be an introduction to the Virtual Villagers series to anyone who has not enjoyed these games yet!

We are expanding our Android beta testing team, and we would like to invite owners of Android devices (phones and tablets) to join our beta testing program. VV4 for Android is nearly ready for testing, and we would love to have an eager group of testers to help get it ready for the Android Market! We are no longer adding people to the VV4 Android beta test, but we are still encouraging interested adults to submit a beta tester application. We expect several Android beta tests in the coming year, and we will be selecting new testers on a first-come, first-served basis from all of the applications that we receive. If you are selected as a beta tester, you will be notified via email prior to the start of the beta test, so please make sure that you let us know if your email address changes.
You should add ldw.com to your email whitelist and/or check your spam or junk folders for email from LDW, since email from LDW often ends up there.
If you are at least 18 years old and willing to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) with us (since you may be participating in beta testing unreleased titles or features in the future), please visit our Beta Testing Application page and complete the short application form. Since the form doesn't yet allow a choice of operating system other than Windows or Mac, please note in the comments that you will be testing on an Android device. Note that by clicking the Submit button, you are digitally signing the NDA, agreeing to the terms of the agreement, and affirming that you are at least 18 years old.

Please note that after the forums crashed over the weekend of January 22-23, most of the links contained in posts are not working properly. They all take you to the Portal Page, rather than the correct post. We ask that everyone refrain from posting about this issue in other forums - we are aware of it and are working on it. That way, we can keep all of the discussions on track.
In the meantime, there's a workaround for the issue. - Note the post number of the link you are trying to get to (look at the address bar at the top of your browser after you click the link for the post you wanted to see).
- Copy the following link into your browser in a separate tab:
http://www.ldwforums.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=124217&an=4#Post124217 - Replace the two post numbers in that url with the post number you want to go to.
- Hit enter or Go in your browser.

Hi Everyone, and Happy New Year!
We have finally launched the fifth Virtual Villagers game: Virtual Villagers - New Believers.
It was a very fun project to work on because it is even more emergent and unpredictable than any of the previous chapters. Having a gang of non-believers running around that we cannot control has that effect!
