The most common cause is that you changed your computer's system clock.

i havent touched my computers clock system i don't do that kind of stuff.

Is it because i went on holiday and i left the game paused???

maybe that will explain the problem??

Leaving the game paused won't cause that kind of problem. Your computer's system clock can be changed in a lot of different ways, sometimes unintentionally. The clock can be inadvertently changed if you double-click that little Windows clock in the bottom right corner to check dates and times (a lot of people do that without realizing that it changes anything on their computer). Also, Windows has the ability to set the computer's clock using an Internet time reference, so if the clock was inaccurate the resulting time correction could affect the game.

Hopefully your food isnt too low just wait till the clocks count down and they will reset to the proper times. if your food is low, then get them kids working. mushies will save your tribe.
as for the fire, wouldnt worry about that one, maybe try putting wood on it, might reset it to the right time, if not, just be happy you dont have to take a villager away from work.

That's because the statistic for hours played is also affected by changes in the system clock. In effect, you haven't played as long since the clock was set back.

That's the only thing you can do. Trying to fix it by changing the clock further will only cause more problems.

i havent had a island event since this has happened. I have had the game on 1/2 speed for 4 days and still havent had an event. I use to have 1 every 24 hours.

I think i know why this has happened. My mum used the laptop and the date was a couple of weeks ahead than it should be. So she put it back to the right date.

Is there anything i can do about the island events \:\( \:\(

get L3 patience!

just wait until the clock gets back on track

don't try messing with the clock again! it will probably just mess you up more!

The game schedules the next Island Event when one occurs, just like you would schedule an appointment on your calendar. Since your computer's clock was two weeks ahead when the event was scheduled, the game is waiting for the scheduled date and time, and then the event will happen.

Why don't you start another village in another slot so that you have something to do to pass the time?

Keep an eye on your computer's system clock. If it's not always displaying the actual date and time, the game will continue to be messed up. There are several causes for inaccurate system clocks, including a depleted CMOS battery in your computer.

Maybe so, if your computer's system clock isn't accurate. CMOS batteries are inexpensive, though, if that's what is causing the problem.

My system clock hasn't changed since the first time it messed up so i don't see why it has seemed to mess up again.

Once the real-time engine in the game is affected by clock changes, it's hard to predict what will happen. If you're really attached to that game, you might want to keep a log for awhile and note the actual time and date, what time and day your computer's clock thinks it is, and some key timers in the game and see if you can detect a pattern. There's not much else that can be done (other than start a new game).

it would be possible to start a new game without erasing the one you have though

then you can check up on it and hope the timer sets itself straight, also, you could see if it was just the one game that is being messed up, or if the new ones gets messed up too

right?

Yes, and that was suggested earlier in the thread. \:\) As I said before, once the real-time engine is messed up by system clock changes, it's really impossible to predict what will happen. There are 5 slots, so there certainly should be room to start another game and let this one continue to run, to see what happens.

that is why you start a new one, you can concentrate on it, and jsut check up on the one that is messed up right now

the new game will take your mind off it

(and VI, if it was suggested more than 5 minutes ago, i really don't remember!)

On 2X speed, whenever I make the fire, I click it says 10 hrs. Then I click again a second later and it says nine. Then it counts regular. Is this on purpose? I keep the fire out so people can get sick to train doctors, but I'm just wondering.

Have you had an island event involving the GC? A couple will change the look of your villager.

Not that I know of, but that doesn't mean I didn't just over look it.

I will try and pay better attention and see if it happens again.

Thanks,
