I've had two - one after only a few minutes and one after a few hours. The first was when a child found some strange black seeds and was wondering whether to plant or eat them - I told him to plant them and all the plants around them died. I'm glad I didn't tell him to eat them! The second was just a popup stating that the children had remembered something about their past. I can't remember the exact wording but the parents went off for some reason and left the children with one adult, but nobody's sure what happened to him.

I had a couple early on... one about the kids remembering something. I don't recall the other. But I also had some interesting ones... like a friendly parrot dropping nuts in my food bin (+500 food), one of my villagers finding a love note (and winding up an adept parent from the exchange of love notes), one of the infamous "vial of liquid" events... and a "special pearl" event that I can only think didn't have a happy resolution possible since I imagine "keep it for herself" would have resulted in her becoming a hermit and I know from experience that sharing it with the tribe resulted in an outbreak of greedy fighting that cost me 200 tech points.

I had one where my villager found a crystal ball...her choices were to keep it, or give it to the children. I was worried something might happen to all my children (it was about an hour in, so I had 4 kids) so I made her keep it. Well she woke up feeling "strange" and looked over at...herself! She had switched bodies with one of the children, so she suddenly had no skills. On the plus side, I have a kid who's an apprentice scientist!

I got one event where one of the kids was having nightmares, and one options was to wake her up, the other was to not wake her up. One event were the stupid birds annoyed the researchers and they dropped bowls (= research points). One event were one of the kids remembered something about the grown ups that used to be with them.

I had an event where one of the children heard noises coming from the bushes that sounded like voices. The options were: A- Back away from the voices OR B-Investigate the voices. I chose 'B' and when the child went to investigate, she discovered the "voices" were actually noisy parrots. But, then she became curious as to why they were so noisy. She found that they were feasting on wild nuts, so she gathered as many as she could and brought them to the tribe, which gained +700 Food.

I had a "drop the coconut" or "soak it in water" I said soak it. Don't remember exactly what happened but thought I should have dropped it instead.

I finally got an island event!!! It's been 3 days and I don't time travel... strange. But at least I got one. Unfortuantely, I drank the liquid and lost a ton of skill (I am not positive, but I think she lost two skills completely and went from a Master Scientist to a Trainee) BUMMER!!! K

I had the fog....but the villiagers found a scroll and gain 1,000 tech points. One child remembered the adults looking at some writing the same day everyone disappeared. I had the dried, salty fish, a teleascope which gained about 1,000 points as well. Nothing bad so far.

I got a savage boy scratching his back with instrument. Choice was to scare him away or lure him with food. I chose lure him with food. He ate up 500 food, which happened to be more food than the tribe had, then joined the tribe.
I also got the pearl event, but I chose share it with tribe. A fight broke out over the pearl, resulting in the pearl being smashed and lost.
There are also more than one sack. One sack that was stained contained fire ants, which bit and killed the villager that opened the sack. Another sack that was mostly intact contained tools and mice, gain technology but made villagers sick. Another sack that was not stained but was ripped had only mice in it, making villagers sick.
I also got an annoying parrot, that startles the researchers, causing them to lose technology points.
I did 2 tribes, that's how I got so many events. My first tribe had 1 of the 2 adults eaten by fireants in the first hour, then the annoying parrot took away technology points so they couldnt get enough technology for the farming or engineering before the algae bloom happened. So I had to start over. Then I got the sack with mice and equipment, and the pearl event.

Hey hey, I had this before, and I told her to keep it, having had the same thing earlier about the table over-turning. If you tell them to keep it, they get better at researching! Which is strange, because that's why I originally told them to give it to the researchers, because in VV1, that would result in hermitism and possible muttering to oneself. Which I seemed to have picked up since discovering this game!

So far I've had 3 events, though the stats list only 2. (Because I counted one as an event, but the game didn't.) They were the Silver Mirror, Blessing Day Celebration, and the children remembering that somehing had been buried. The last one wasn't counted in the game as an event as such, but I did.
Blessed be you. Katherine.

I just had an event! Two MORE people fell down the waterfall to join us. Everyone did a little celebration, except me, because I'm worried about the food supplies. (Although I have nearly 900, so it's a silly worry.)

I had another event this morning. Hole in the sand in the beach. I told my villager to investigate it. Apparently there was some kind of beast in there that tried to hurt my villager. He managed to get out but lost some health (although not much).

I have had the same one on two different villages. It is "The Prettiest Girl". One of the girls tries to find out if she is the prettiest girl on the island. If she says she is, she winds up having Work and Learning on her dislikes. If she says she isn't, then the other villagers like her and she gains skill in Parenting.

I just got one that was a plastic sack that washed up on shore and when I opened it, it had preserved food in it and it gave me 1500 in food!

After awhile instead of telling a story they teach the children. And all of the children come and it says atteding lessons. But I can't tell if this increases the childrens skill level. Does anyone know?
I do know that sometimes it increases the parenting skill.

I had one where a guy found a wierd coconut and the options were to thow it against the rock or soften it in the pond, i told them to soften it in the pond and it sank to the bottom some of the villagers laughed. i just got the remembering one an it says "One of the children remembered something! On the day they disappeared, the adults were hiding pieces of something and then left to find something else. One adult remained behind to watch the children, but what became of that guardian is unclear."
Did anyone else get this one? Plus it says at the bottom of the screen "this villagers has improved at parenting"

Has anyone had the event about the dragon flies? I am skating on thin ice with my village (desperately need tech points to get level 3 farming) and I don't want to mess it all up. Should I chase them away or ignore them??? Thanks for your help! K

Both telling a story and teaching increases a villagers parenting skill eventually, it has no effect on the children though (which is kind of sad).

The kids gained parenting skills? Hm, sorry, I dont think so. Its rather the adult who teaches or tells a story whose skills are getting better. I havent noticed any change in the kids' skills. But them lining up for a lesson looks pretty sweet

My kids have some parenting skills, the only way I can figure out they got them was from story time and teaching.
Let me see if I can capture a screenshot of their detail screen for you.
Keep your fingers crossed, I've never succeeded at this before.

I had one with a mirror and had to choose between two words to speak and the one I chose doubled my villager, which was great cause I only had seven at the time.

Keep your fingers crossed, I've never succeeded at this before. Oh, I might have just missed it then! Maybe because it didnt seem logical to me, I actualy had an eye upon their working skills (cause that was actually what they were shown in the lesson) I'll take a closer look next time my kids get lectured - thanks for telling me

Just had a very nasty event, something similar to pest, making the food in the food bin and all crops & coconuts rot away. Had zero food in the end - sigh. The first time around when I banged the gong it took health... Looks like I am not lucky atm

He gained a little bit of research skill, but went back to his block-playing. I believe you chose the better option, MonkeiMom.

I just had an event where some of my villagers left (the strongest and youngest) to go explore the south side. I think 15 total left. I wonder if they're coming back..

I think she is going to be a professional Mommy when she grows up. (Coral, not my daughter!)

My prettiest little princess also has a dislike for learning. She's doing alright, but she's a little slow to pick up. Funny how the prettiest ones have the dislikes for academia or work. It's almost as if the game was designed that way, like real life.

I just had the worst, strangest event!!! Somehow during the night all of the infants have vanished! The mothers are all in a panic...why would anyone program in mass kidnapping? Could it be a precursor to VV3? I want my babies back...

Oh here's another one: 'Biggles' wants some time on the research table. Your options are let him or refuse him. I let him have at it and he messed it all up making me lose 3000 tech points! Lucky for me though my tribe was only about an hour old so I didn't have that many to take, but I was still mad at "biggles"

Here's one: something about one of the villagers bragging about being the fastest runner. you can either challenge them to a race or agree with them (to shut them up I guess) My daughter got that one twice (only once that I saw) and when I agreed with them, they liked running even more. So she got a tribe starting out with 2 runners! That's similiar to another event posted on here, with a female villager bragging about being the "Prettiest on the Island". If you agree with her, she doesn't want to work anymore, but just wants to laze around enjoying the pond or what not.

It just depends on how many twins or triplets were birthed at one time.
One member had a fluke with identical matings at the same time and wound up with 113 villagers. Apparently there are screen shots, but I havent seen them yet.

Gee sorry Buru ... I have alot of ladies that would probably like to share the island, but at present, most of the viable breeding ones are busy (some studmuffin has been busy while it was on normal time) LOL. But like someone else here, I have a few elderly smoochers LOL. Two events I haven't heard anyone mention: One happened after an unpleasant bang of the gong ... I was feeling sad because it took health ... luckily, I have "well-rounded" my villagers, and more than 70% of the adults are at LEAST trainee healers ... so when a few people got sick, they were immediately healed. I felt bad though, and wanted to make it up to the village, and the very next day, when I opened the game, I found the villagers were having a celebration party for the BIG HAND WHO HELPS THEM THROUGH THEIR DAY!! LOL!!! So I figured they had forgiven me LOL TODAY, when I was playing, all of a sudden a message came up: A warm westerly breeze is going across the island, and it refreshes the villagers, AND refreshes the COCONUT TREES ... And for the first time in a very LONG time .... my coconut trees, picked clean every harvesting with about 36 coming in each time the crop matures, and decimated to about 6, suddenly had 980 COCONUTS!!!! Come to think of it, that could have also been attributed to a gong banging ... hmmm ... last time it said "The Gong grants food!" .... maybe a combo of both?

Anyone had the "Foul Passing" event yet? I tried searching but got no results.
Anyhow, it's a nasty one. I had in excess of 35,000 units of food when the "foul passing" happened. The crops withered, the coconuts fell off the trees, and the food in the bin rotted away. The village (of 111 at the time) was left with 0 food...
Let's hope they all make it!!!

Well, happily, the foul passing doesn't seem to have had too much of a negative impact on my village after all. The farmers got to work straight away and everything's now manageable again - two of them were runners, so that helped - and nobody got particularly hungry as stocks replenished. Good thing was, the farmers managed it all by themselves, without having to change anybody else's immediate tasks (in my village, generally, the teens to twenties work as builders, by late twenties to mid-forties as farmers, then as scientists until they drop...seems to be the best pattern I've found yet, although of course there are variances to both a positive and negative extent!).

I got the "Taken the children" event yesterday, and was confused when I saw that my tribe was still at 113, and all of the children were STILL THERE .... who did they take? I still had two ladies with babies, and 17 children, from ages 3-12, so who did they take? LOL. I can't attribute it to time away passage, since I visit the tribe every night, at least to keep the "home fires burning", and I have it set to 1/2 time.

The most common cause for a lack of Island Events is that the computer's system clock has been adjusted (intentionally or not). You can see one player's experience (after his mother changed the computer's clock) here.

I just got the island event where the pesky, annoying parrot knocks things over at the tech table .... what almost knocked ME right off my CHAIR, was how much tech points it took ....

OW, OW, OW, ... WOW, WOW, WOW!!!!!!!
Thank goodness it doesn't affect how many CUMULATIVE tech points you have in the stats!!!

Thank goodness it doesn't affect how many CUMULATIVE tech points you have in the stats!!! I agree...otherwise we both would have been in a lot of pain with this island event. Mine took about 800,000 or 8 million tech points. (I forget how many numbers there were in the screenshot I have and not sure if I'm going to be able to recover the screenshot either. Home puter crashed. )

The savage boy: You have to sacrifice something in this event... if it's food pick the first option if tech points pick the second one The love note: If you pick the first option then the guy who found the note will improve in parenting, if you pick the second one then his secret admirer will have a baby The fastest runner: 1. Hates running 2. Loves running 3. Neither! Type 1 villagers: first option will do nothing second option will turn them into type 3 Type 2 villagers: first option will turn them into type 3 second option will do nothing Type 3 villagers: first option will turn them into type 1 second option will turn them into type 2 If you want more reply to this topic

He owns 50 totems and a village all to himself.
The only thing he doesn't have is a good woman to enjoy it with.
Anyone interested?
Here he is today on his own private beach. Buru is the only villager on the island?! Actually he has dark brown hair...like mine.

I had this one today.
Friendly Parrot Of the many parrots living near the village, one in particular is not afraid of the villagers. Even when the children chase the parrots away, this parrot is always the last to fly off. Now surprisingly, he started dropping nuts in the food bin. Your villagers gained 1200 food.

My first event was one of my children hearing strange voices in the surf. Based on another person's experience where it turned out to be birds who were feasting on nuts, I had her investigate. She vanished, and will never be heard from again. I was only 15 minutes into the game. I restarted it.......... :-<

Ive never gotten this one... The Foul Passing A strange feeling is in the air. Suddenly, the crops become infested, the coconuts fall rotten off the trees, and the food bin becomes tainted. Something foul passed through the village and had a devastating effect on the village food sources. Now I have zero food! and several of my villagers were dead, not sure if because old, or this event...

When I started I got the dragonflies event and chased them off. Then an hour later got it again. I guess the game gave me a do over so I ignored them the second time.
