I had to restart a few times because I left it too late

I have 8-two kids-six adults. And all the adults are workin on the dam.

Well stick it out. It will be tough, but keep them working on the dam, and start hunting those mushrooms!!!

depends. The timer runs at 120 minutes i do believe on 2x...but you could be right in the middle of the timer when you solve the puzzle so you may only have 40 minutes left the first time...it varies...if im correct

keep hunting the mushrooms!!! That is your only hope. And check the coconut trees every once in awhile. They will grom more coconuts from time to time.

LOL i got the dam. 0 food....And 50 minutes till crops so i hope all goes well. OHHH!!!! i got a mushroom and i put it in the bin and it was gone before i could say "yay some more food".

How do you start building the dam?

Get the right tech level and put your builder in the right spot.

Need a certain tech level. Click on the Tech button on the left hand side and read the different tech's. It's pretty straight forward.

do you have farmers trained already so they will immediately start gathering the food?

I had to keep dragging my guy off the coconut tree. Luckily my kids are finding lots of mushrooms, butterflies and shells to keep everything going while most of the adults are working on the dam.

I remember from VV1, that setting your speed to 1/2 time seemed to help when you're low on food and still have a ways to go before reaching the next tech level or completion.

Does that still work? I hope so since I've employed that tactic and am also awaiting the contructions of the dam.

Everything is ok now my food is up to 662 and one first crop is almost gone trying to get the hut done and some research for the alge fish..... anyone got any help/hints on wut tech i should really focus on?

Help, the birds are eating my garden before the villagers can harvest it and the ocean has algea. No coconuts either. My people (9) are going to starve. Can I build a scarecrow or something to scare the birds away?

Try taking one of your best farmers around the island looking for something that could help.

Well, I guess the best that you can hope for, besides lots of growing mushrooms (hopefully red ones!), is an island event that will result in you having more food. I wish you all the best for your village! And take LadyCFII's advice about the farmer!

It's because we're all having a food crisis in this game it looks like. I too am one of them. I only have 21 villagers 300 in the bin and 50 in the garden for food and level 1 medicine and culture and level 2 Farming, Exploration, Engineering, and Science. Currently at 10,000 tech points.

Do I get the points up to 90,000 for the farming or what? Not sure what I should buy next. What you you do in my situation?

21 villagers are a lot to support on Farming 2... I'd suggest you get farming 3 next and use those kids to collect as many mushrooms as you can in the meantime

That's just it...I can't find any mushrooms...barely even seen any collectibles lateley either. Oh, and the darn lake is algified too.

I agree Bajantara i would get ur farming up...And about the Mushrooms well just keep looking and xome of the colectables are hard to see.

they should turn up... try using the keypad to search... at least it'll take some strain off your mouse hand... oh and you could make one of the healthy stews and feed them with it... that'll help stretch your food supply. They will be full and healthy without eating directly from the food bin, which is more food-consuming

Just got the stew. Do they eat that on their own too? upto 13,500 on the tech points so have quite a ways to go for level 3. Down to 46 food. Like someone said before....oh, the drama.

Well I didn't take anyone to the pot and after posting my last post...the pot was empty. Mixing up a batch of flowers to find the right mix I need now.

oh don't panic then.. that's not too much of a long haul. Make the stew.. feed everybody twice.. that will hold them till the crops come in... you shouldn't see much health deterioration

They dont need to water the garden. To me it seems the time for crops go down when u water or plant seeds but its not a must. And it may produce more mushrooms as i see i make more stew more mushrooms pop up!!!

No they don't have to water all the time. But it does train them to become master in farming. And helps to be come Master Elders. I pull mine off to research between crops unless they are really close to becoming a master farmer.

Also it only takes 2 mushrooms to make a special stew that will restore everyones health so you can make it to next crop. Try it if you have the right tech to be able to make stew.

You don't need any mushrooms to restore their health. I just restored everyone's health using something else.

I think what she's saying is that 12 points of food is enough food to add to the stew

Sorry I should have said it better. To be able to add food to the stew in first place you indeed need 2 brown mushrooms in bin. Before it says adding food to stew. Before that if you have less or 0 will tell you not enough food to do this. And you can also collected mushrooms and collectibles when game is on pause. I think pretty boring doing it that way. But sometimes you need to do it to gather food before you get the tech levels you need to keep your village going.

Hi all, I guess I'll put in my 2 cents. I just joined the forum but my VV1 is still going strong. I've been down to 0 food so many times on this one it isn't funny. Sweatin' bullets! When I needed the dam finished, I put Everyone on it. It went much faster. Then I put Everyone on planting and watering until that garden came in. I didn't worry about research or anything else. I had 0 coconuts and 0 kids finding mushrooms at the time so getting the dam done was the most important thing. Once the crisis was over, Everyone but 1 planting and watering was doing research. I'm now 3000 away from 3rd level farming and getting rid of the algae. Then maybe we can all breathe easier. lol

If you can help it, don't mass farm to bring in the food. The time till next harvest will be that much longer.

No worries now. The algae is gone and fishes and crabs are the dinner of choice. lol (with a few veggies on the side)

yea i do but i watch and how come some go up by the thousand and some just go up like 50 or 100??? does it matter how rare they are like iof there common or uncommon or rare.

The rare, uncommon and uncommon all have different values

Well, you are certainly luckier than me. I only have 2,578! But I think that is because I just bought Level 2 in Science. Well, at least I wll gain my 90,000 faster now, but it's still a loooong way to go. On the bright side, a lot of rare and uncommon collectables are turning up, I even got 3 red mushrooms in a row!!
