My villagers don't talk. The only sounds they make are the "Oh or Ah" when I pick them up or the sound of them eating. Do I have to wait till I hit a certain point?

I have been sitting here laughing while I read these responses. I too have said, "Get back to work, there's almost no food, do you all want to starve?"

But the one I say the most is, "Where did you go (to the little ones)...get back here, quit running away from me the shell/beetle/pretty rock/mushroom is going to disappear if I can't get my hands on you!"

My hubby pointed out this morning that I've been saying that and I didn't even realize it.

I always find myself saying "HEY KID! C'mere!!" whenever there is an item or mushroom for them to pick up.

The only other thing I say is "Sorry, honey, you're too old & slow for fishing!!" to my one elderly farmer, whenever she leaves the field (at a snail's pace) to go fishing.

I find myself always saying "Just DO it and stop complaining!"

I say that too and I scrabble around trying to find one only to find that by the time I've found one and got them there the mushroom or whatever has disappeared so then I say something very bad indeed :(.

I talk to my villagers all the time, both in VV1 and VV2. It's a good job I live alone because I would probably be put away if anyone heard me :).

I had one elderly Esteemed Elder. I just finished restoring him with the stew and thought that I'd go for one more round of breeding with him and he dropped dead right after the first kiss, so I said,

"At least HE went with a smile on his face!"

You have got to be kidding me - you think you have time to stroll over to ADMIRE the Ancient Gong Encasement???!!!!!

Stop looking at me with that blank face - this is not your first time working at this table - turn around and get back to work!!!!

I picked up a tip from someone else on the forum, which works fantastically. You just pause the game with SPACEBAR, take your time to find a child, drag him/her over the item, and it will state "collecting blah blah...". Then once you unpause the game, the kid will kneel down and collect.

Careful, though -- the collectible or mushroom timer keeps running even when you pause, so you can't take too long to find the kid.

Oh, I did not know that...
