I believe it was in VV-1 where women could have children at a very late age. In the later VV games it was usually 50.

Click to reveal..

Women over 50 can reproduce in VV4. Make sure the parenting skill is selected and she'll be nursing in no time.

I'm trying to get my 51 yr old mom to Master Parent, but ever since she set down her last baby she hasn't had any luck. The men she's tried with are improving at parenting, but she isn't improving and she isn't conceiving. I too thought it might be an age thing, but now I know that isn't the case. Any ideas?

I had all boy babies, all the women are over 50 and refuse to get pregnant. Started refusing to get pregnant at 50, just like normal. Even tried setting them to Parenting, no better results.

It doesn't seem to happen often, judging by the posts here. I kept several of my women on parenting even when they'd reached 50 in attempts to get them to Master of Parenting and thence to Scholar, and none of them have fallen pregnant. Now my population is maxed out so there's even less chance of it happening.

Since I was slow in expanding my tribe at the beginning there was a fairly big gap between the first and second generations. That meant that when I maxed out my population and no further babies could be born I had to wait for a villager to die. However, since the oldest peeps were all still relatively young I had a big gap when nobody died. At one stage I had only one kid and 94 adults. It felt terrible hoping that someone would die so that another baby could be born! cry

I'm just finding it annoying they're saying it'll work, over and over again, when it obviously doesn't. I need a real solution, not platitudes, and I'm obviously not going to get one. Started the game with 3 women, 1 man, 1 child. 2 of the women are dead now, they stopped giving birth at 50, and all they produced were male. The whole point of getting all women was to produce more kids. No good there.

catsend, Your best bet, maybe the only way to go, is start a new tribe. Just go to Menu->Change Tribe. Not all tribes succeed even with a good start. But you can have up to 5 tribes running at once.. At least one of them should get to where the population is stable and can increase when there is enough food and enough huts.

I believe woman villagers do not conceive babies after age 50, although they can still go to the love shack. smile

To all of you having trouble with your over 50 women conceiving:

Your best bet is to get the over 50 to at least adept status by fast kissing, master status is probably even better.

Make sure that parenting is ticked as their preferred skill and then close the game for a while - half an hour or so should do it.

When you come back in all likelihood your over 50 will be nursing. I have had many over 50s nursing, some even with twins and right into their 70s. They just don't seem to conceive by forcing matters! grin

Hope this helps, some do have better luck in conceiving than others and having level 3 medicine also increases fertility.

Interesting. I've always shifted the over 50 ladies to farming or healing. I should let them try longer. Although with currently 104 villagers, farming is more what my tribe needs.
