I just got to 40 people and I got a message saying I've reached my maximum sustainable population. I've built all three huts. In the computer game is 90. Did it have to be dropped to 40 for the iPhone version or does that alert mean something else?

Are 3 huts the maximum for the iPhone version? And is that 3 huts including the 'special' hut or 3 huts plus the 'special' one?

Just trying to figure out the best way to level up 3 master builders when there don't seem to be any more huts to build(but I have 2 more building puzzles left at least). Fixing huts to level them up takes so long!

You can build 3 housing huts in the iPhone version, in addition to the other buildings, which is the same as the desktop versions of the game.

So it's 40 max, period? No additional population allowance for completing collections? (There is on the PC version, right? Or am I thinking of something else?)

The maximum population for the iPhone version of VV2 is 40 villagers. The population bonus for completed collections is in the desktop versions only, although the messages from the desktop versions mentioning a population bonus were inadvertently left in the game and should be ignored.

When I reached 40 people, had not yet found the last piece of the Gong. So while trying to figure that out, I decided to see if I could get more with 3 masterships. Didn't succeed, but had an amusing time seeing how my little people handled my strategy.

I took a number of individuals and made them all trainee parents. Since they couldn't have any kids, would they still advance? Yes, ended up with a few master parents. And when I'd check in there would be a LONG line of people showing up to get "trained" at both little cottages. A couple of them dashed off running away from the group. the game didn't complain about this-- but if I accidentally brought two people too close together, it would say, the population was maxed and no no!!

So, it's done. As far as the iPod version goes. Back to virtual families.

Yes, I use that trick to train the villagers to elders, too (although I play the PC version). When the population is at max I'm forever sayimg "I know, I know!" to the screen when the message appears. I need to start the villagers off in their parenting career, and it sometimes takes a few tries before the villager moves up to trainee parent and can be left alone to get on with it.
