I love LDW games. The minute one comes out, I get out my CC.

At the same time, I'm so disappointed that the characters are *still* all white. The game is realistic enough with squeezing pimples (Yuck!) and arguing. Therefore, in this same theme of realism, having all-white families seems a throwback from the 1950's.

Please rethink the characters. Thanks for listening!

I think they keep them so white because the villagers have been this way, and it's very hard to make them have numerous skin tones. maybe when the villagers are in the pool or something, the can get tanned, and the tan goes away for a while?

but whenever i go siming i het a tan every single time you are in a pool you'ill get a tan even more because the water works like a mignifiging glass and makes the sun's rays brighter or whatevwer but that is kind of weird

It would be nice if they created a game with all black characters for the black community. All they would have to do would be to change the character pictures.

There is a mod available in the VV2 mods forum, Jazzo's Skin Tone Mod. It's quite possible that someone will create a similar mod for another of the LDW games, especially if asked nicely.

I agree with you all, and I like your tan idea halidog. There should be mixed colors and coultures.

I have a suggestion for different races. You currently use five image files for each gender. For example, the female files are:

female_actions00.png
female_bodies00.png
female_heads00.png
female_heads10.png
female_sit00.png

Rename these with a prefix of "W" for White. Create three more sets, each with a different prefix (A=Asian, B=Black, I=American Indian or Alaskan Native).

Add a race property to the person. The property will be a single character.

Then, if you need an image of, say, a black female sitting, you would concatenate as follows to get the filename of the image set needed:

person.Race + "female_sit00.png"

Ideally, you should use the sex property also:

person.Race + person.Sex + "_sit00.png"

I'm a "light-skinned" black woman and I have no problem with the game characters being "all white". It's a game, for Pete's sake!
