I searched to see if anyone else had already started a thread which lists the salaries for the various careers and for each level within those careers and couldn't find one. So, I basically started my families over again (except for my very first one) and this is the information I've gathered so far:

Camera Repairer (In workshop)
Level 1 $ 90
2 105

Wood Sculptor (In workshop)
Level 1 $ 60

Personal Cook (In kitchen)
Level 1 $105
2 135

Salad Packager (In kitchen)
Level 1 $ 45
2 54
3 66

Fairy Tale Writer (I either missed level one or she started at level 2)
Level 2 $75

I'll edit this with more information when I get it. I actually have one more, but forgot to write down the title and pay, lol!

Anyway, if everyone can add information to this, it would be interesting to learn.

Oh and if someone already did start a similar thread, just let me know and I can delete this or have one of the site admins delete it instead.

I believe salary levels are the same for everybody regardless their profession. Which means whoever starts with 90$ as a beginner will end up with 300$ as a master.
BTW, bethlham, I also had master rocket scientist. A blond one. laugh

For the highest salaries (well, I admit, I'm greedy blush ) - I have lobbyist and programmer

Level 1 105$
2 135$
3 174$
4 204$
5 240$
6 282$ - update smile

Engineer, Rocket Scientist
Level 1 90$
2 105$
3 129$
4 168$
I don't remember the rest, but at the end it was 300$.

Digital Photo Editor starts with 60$.

Level 2 75$
3 90$
4 114$

All of them work in the office. smile

Ah, yes, that makes sense. So we can determine the levels of pay and then add in a given career to the appropriate earnings schedule.

My web designer is now: exceptional(7)234.

I loved the Rocket Scientist! laugh But I think I'm going for a Programmer or Personal Chef next *cha ching* laugh

I've been putting their current salary in notes, but I didn't keep the stages which I wished I had now. I will from now on.

Vitamin Inventor - I know he started at $15 but I chose him as a partner anyway as he definitely wanted kids. So.... for that I got

Exceptional (7) - $450 (he paid off laugh )

Trail Mix Creator

Master (8) - $285

I had a Pen Designer was toped at 675. He was a really good husband, LOL. This career was in the workshop. I now have a husband and wife team who are Dress Designers and they are on level 4 and already making 385 apiece. Also in workshop. My kitchen workers seem not to make much money.

I have just got a lady who is an "Online Store Operator" and at level 1 she is earning $15. Looking through this thread it seems that it is the same pay scale for all who start on the same salary. So I am hopeful that she will be earning $690 before long!! The only problem is having children and interrupting her career progression, hopefully they'll be able to adopt a few.

* The information regarding the Day Trader occupation is marked because it apparently can reach $410 at one point and then drops back down to end at $240. (Reported by Lewanda -- thanks for that info, Lewanda!)

eta -- I tried to get the dollar amounts to line up, but just couldn't, sorry. frown

Here is a link to the other thread which I used to add to the information on this thread:

Glad you like it bethlham! laugh I actually first hand-wrote each one and then used Officeorg's word processing program to type them up and sort them. Then I copied them here, so it wasn't that much work, really. I was a word processor for 10 years ('87-'97) back when that was still a job you could actually get, lol! So it wasn't much trouble at all.

If I can get some of mine to actually make it to Master then I'll be able to add more too. Oh, and did you know that there is a Dress Maker as well as a Dress Designer? I didn't know that and I have a Dress Maker in my game -- didn't really notice that there was a difference until I made this list. But she's not very high yet, only level 2 or 3 right now so I don't know what the max salary is for that career.

Anyway, I figure that yes, I can update it when I get enough new ones to make it worthwhile. smile

I think we may be looking at this the wrong way. The list of career names seems to be massive, however the pay scales seem limited in number. In other words, any job title with a starting salary of $15 will have the exact same pay at levels 2-7 as any other job with the same beginning pay and will end up with the largest pay at master. Any job title beginning at $45 will have the same pay at each job level as any other job with that beginning pay.

Maybe we just need a list of the pay scales.

After we know the pay for each job level, the job title shouldn't really matter that much, except for the "perfect match" trophy. I would rather try to get my couples working in the same room for upgrade reasons (especially first gen.)

Pay scale info gleaned from this thread so far:
(1) 15. (2) 30, (3) ?, (4) ?, (5) 174, (6) 270, (7) 450, (8) 690
(1) 45, (2) 54, (3) 66, (4) 81
(1) 45,(2) 60, (3) 75, (4) 90, (5) 120, (6) 165, (7) 210, (8) 270

That's actually a good idea, but I am hoping that people still post the Master Level salaries for a little longer just to verify that assumption. I mean, that all jobs that start at $15 per hour end up the same at level 8, etc. I'm assuming you and the few others that have said that are correct, but I would like to verify that for sure anyway.

If it does turn out to be true though, then your idea is a much better idea than trying to make a list with every possible job title as there seems to be LOTS! lol!

I don't remember how much they started at but right now I have two masters:

Level 8 Hacker makes $270
Level 8 Tech Consultant makes $270 as well

Should we just assume the majority of computer jobs make about the same amount at the end? I have several more peeps who will be reaching master shortly so I'll check back in then.

Megolopolis, I don't think that all computer jobs actually have the same level 8 pay, but the ones that start at the same pay definitely appear to have the same ending pay. I know that at least some of the computer jobs end at $300 instead of $270 though. It seems to me that the ones that end at $300 start at $90 but I just can't remember for sure. I will have to go into the game and "Adopt" a character to see what the starting pay is for some of the ones where I know they end at $300 to find out for sure.

It's not true for all salaries. All those $15 inventors usually go to 690 and so but my box maker started at 15 and ended up at master rank as only 210. Spice mixer makes 300 at level 8 if you don't have that laugh

Re: muzzy

Yeah. I noticed just in the data collected that there were two different salary progressions starting at $45. I started a new game on another log-in so I can test them all beginning at $15 and see what happens at master.

I suppose what we should do is collect the salaries at as many levels as possible and post the data, especially a beginning salary with a master salary.

BayouBlonde and everyone else who is helping out with this, I just wanted to say that you guys have a lot of good ideas and thank you for all your help. I promise I will sit and go over all the posts in this thread that were added after I put the first listing up and add the data to my lists but I still want to wait until we have a few more.

Oh, and I must be a complete failure at this game as I've still only had one Master, lol! But, maybe it's because when I finally decided to add version .05 (night before last) I deleted all my current families and started over. I am hoping that it's easier to get to Master after the house has had some upgrades and you start out with enough money to buy all organic foods, etc. So, I'm basically hoping that it's easier from the second generation on -- so far I haven't really given them a chance.

Now I have a level 7 Lobbyist making $345 and a master Video Game Designer @$690!!!! I'll check in when my lobbyist gets her last promotion. My respect for office jobs is growing.

BTW these two are 50 and 51 and still run around the house like kids despite their age and rapid job progression. Love them!

No worries, Simsane. I'm still playing the first version because I bought mine from shockwave. heh
The only time I buy organics is when they are on sale and have had absolutely no problems with health unless an illness hits just after I shut down for the night and it is left untreated for a while. I always praise "healthy" behaviors (working out, quick workout, enjoying sounds of nature, relaxing, etc.) and health always raises quickly.
Work room upgrades DO seem to make a difference in promotion speed.(I play 8 families on two windows logins.) I always have at least one of the two adults at master, usually both.
My experiment with salaries beginning at $15 resulted in several different ending pay grades with only a few maxing at $690. Unfortunately, my daughter fell ill just as they were all maxing out and I was barely able to run in and feed everyone, so I didn't have the time to make notes of all the job titles and master salaries as I had hoped.
Hopefully I can post a list of some that I do remember later today. Just glancing over the posts above I can say that the Online Store Operator definitely maxes at 690.

BayouBlonde, I don't think it is the first version of VF. I'm pretty sure there were patches before it went to the game portals. It is easy to check to see what version you are running -- click on the main button -- look on the bottom left of your screen for the version number.

I think our theories have some flaws in them, or the game has some code we aren't taking into consideration.

I had a Day Trader level 1 at $105/day marry a Boardgame Designer level 2 at $105 a day. They were doing well, getting the same pay, and I made them have a baby. Dad got a promotion while mom was carrying the kid. As soon as she put the kid down, she went back to her job Day Trading. Her next promotion, to level 2? Now her salary is only $90. Either a bug, or we don't know enough about the jobs to see everything. To me, it looked like she got demoted for not working for two years.

Actually, I think that's just a feature for that particular job. In the chart I made, I actually explained that would happen with that particular job. I haven't actually ever played anyone with that job, but another member, Lewanda, kept great records and that's what happened to her as well.

It's possible that there may be other jobs that are like that too though. There are so many available that I really don't know for sure yet.

Yeah, version said .00 and I have always had the problems with tired / exhausted, which is how I found these forums and was my reason for using two windows logins (the other was set with reverse night/day. But... sad news... I just did a windows update and had to restart the pc (I rarely restart my pc.) When I did and started my game I found that ALL my families had been deleted... on BOTH windows users. Even my daughter's families are gone... all 3rd and 4th gens gone... all house upgrades and repairs gone.. collections gone... trophies gone... I'm disgusted and upset and at this point I don't even want to think about starting over. It was great fun while it lasted. Give me a few days to cool down and I'm sure I'll be back.
The way shockwave works is it uses my net connection to obtain a key each time I start the game (I have a monthly subscription.) I think what happened is they finally uploaded the updated version, it installed when I restarted the pc and poof, my families were gone - because now I have version .05

I agree about the day traders' pay scale. I think it was made specifically to reflect the recent "economic crisis."

Thanks Simsane. I couldn't stand not playing. I'm a true addict. lol WOW at the changes in the updates. Tons of new actions. I can't tell much difference at all in the energy level so far, but I noticed they "starved" overnight. At first I panicked thinking I had not provided enough food, but that was not the case. I had to make each family sit down to a meal twice this morning before they became full. Their fed levels are dropping quickly and they don't seem to be able to learn to prepare meals for themselves any more, which I find strange. If I have to feed them several times a day I won't be able to run as many families as I did before, so I won't be able to provide as much data. I did manage to get several started at $15 and chose a few that we need data on, so we'll see how it goes.

As a correction to my earlier post, the Cocktail Inventor, which started at $15 masters at $330.

I may have imagined this, (it was late at night) but it seemed that the same job did not always start at the same starting salary. Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed this?

Maybe they were just similar sounding jobs...

I had too much free time. I've compiled a google spreadsheet for all the info we've posted. I've noticed a few inconsistencies but made my best guess. Please continue posting your updates in this thread! I will periodically check back and republish.

Meanwhile, I'm also compiling links and stuff on my Squidoo page. http://www.squidoo.com/virtual-families

I love the spreadsheet! Nice work, mosaic. I only wish it were sortable.

I hate that we can only edit our posts for such a short period of time. I would just paste this in my post above. Much of it is duplicate info. I'm trying to get more with salaries beginning at 45 as it seems that is where there is an inconsistency in our data. But, as I am starting over with all first gens again, I needed to throw in some I knew would max at 690 to give myself some nice work room upgrades to ensure master level data. I started several new ones today and if I still have extra time in the next couple of days, I might start another user to give us some more. Some are being played by my daughter, so I will have some holes in my data here and there.

Camera Repairer 1) 90, (2) 105, (3) 129, (4) 144, (5) 168,(6) 195, (7) 234, (8) 300
Online Store Operator (1) 15, (2) 30, (3) 54,(4) 108, (5) 174, (6) 270, (7) 450, (8) 690
Doughnut Decorator (1) 60, (2) 75, (3) 90, (4) 114, (5) 144 (6) 180, (7) 225, (8) 285
Pesto Sauce Creator (1) 15, (2) 30, (3) 54, (4) 108, (5) 174, (6) 270
Box Maker (1) 15? (6) 120, (8) 210
Pen Designer (1) 15, (2) 30, (3) 54, (4) 108, (5) 174, (6) 270, (8) 690
Glue Mixer (1) 45, (2) 54, (3) 66 (4) 81,
Chewing GUm Designer (1) 15, (2) 30, (3) 54 (4) 108, (5) 174 (6) 270
Publicist (1) 45,(2) 60, (3) 75 (4) 90, (5) 120, (6) 165, (7) 210, (8) 270
Meat Grader (1) 90, (2) 105, (3) 129 (4) 144
Video Game designer (1) 15, (2) 30, (3) 54, (4) 108 (5) 174 (6) 270
Vitamin Inventor (1) 15, (2) 30, (3) 54,(4) 108, (5) 174, (6) 270, (7) 450, (8) 690
Recipe Inventor (1) 15, (2) 30, (3) 54, (4) 108, (5) 174,
Talent Agent (1) 15 (2) 30 (3) 54
Screenplay Writer (1) 36, (2) 54 (3) 66
Watch Fixer (1) 90 (2) 105
Soup Inventor (1) 60
Toy Maker (1) 60, (2) 75, (3) 90

Edit: I forgot to say that I am also intentionally trying to take some of those job titles that have been posted as not falling into the main pay scales so that I can confirm the reported information. For example, with pen designer, although the master salary was reported to be different than others beginning at the same level, so far it seems to be on the same pay scale, so the master salary reported may have been an error.

Edit 2: The master salary previously reported for Pen Designer was indeed an error. It is on the same standard pay scale as the other job titles beginning at 15 and masters at 690.

I never noticed this until last night when I was thinking about starting a new game. Not all of the potential adoptees are beginners. I think that's what led to my confusion about certain starting salaries. There are a few novice adoptees mixed in with the beginners.

I have a Day Trader - his salary changes every day - very cute!
the most he has made in a day is 640, but the next day he was back to 60

Kalon, yes that is correct. Some start as novice, level 2. This is also true with proposals. Some new spouses are level 2 as well.

Thanks BayouBlonde. I've added your numbers.

What would you like to sort them by? I could just create another tab and copy the spreadsheet to the second tab and sort it that way.

Either beginning or master salary would be great for me. Simsane and I were looking at the salaries from two different perspectives to give us a clearer picture of how things work. I'm looking at the pay scales and how they vary (or don't vary) from job to job, rather than looking at each particular job. I only pay attention to job title when it falls outside the most common pay scales highlighted in bold in my post above. Thanks so much for all your hard work and a big thanks to all those have contributed to this thread!

OK, an ethical question. Is it wrong that when I have the option to move on a generation, that I go to Family, hit New Generation and cycle through each child with the Try Again button. If I don't see a good 690 master occupation among them, I close VF and restart it. Same kids, all new occupations. Am i an awful cheater? I've done this up to two dozen times before getting what I was after. And so far, once I get a big breadwinner, I marry the first person that shows up on V-Harmony (hey it's like e harmony but virtual wink ) Because i want to have a child as soon as possible. This will also let me know early on if one or both of them have infertility issues. Hey man, making a power family is often brutal! lol

LOL! Well, I wouldn't say it is wrong, but if money is your motive you might want to consider some other things. The repairs and upgrades already done on the house give you more time to spend on mastering jobs. More workroom upgrades mean faster time to reach master level, which means more money in the bank in less time. The fastest way to earn money is bank interest, and trust me - it PILES up over the generations.

That said, I DO choose my next generation based on the salary information we have gathered here (meaning I choose the one I know will have the largest master salary) and I try everything possible to get 6 kids from each couple so I have as many heirs to choose from as I can get. But, I also choose the spouse based on the salary information from here. Although I won't refuse more than two proposals.

Edit: Ohhhhhh!!!! I just now realized what you were saying!! DOH! That's awesome!!

Just had my shoe maker cap at 690, I didn't write down the other levels but I think they were on par with most of the $15 start jobs.

Thanks for the replies. I fully expect them to follow the main pay scales and am mainly posting them for mosaic and Simsane to have for their collections.

If anyone can help fill in any of the ?s in the Salary Table in this post or can add to the information needed to complete this spreadsheet that would be greatly appreciated!

We especially need information on jobs with salaries that have a beginning pay of 54 or 75, as those pay scales have a lot of holes. Salaries for Poet and Wood Sculptor also need to be confirmed, if anyone has those.

Thanks for all the help! smile

*Edit: I don't mind at all. Do you think I can get a copy of the game guide out of it? hehe

Poet:Apprentice(3)66; Lisenced(4)114 also, in the spreadsheet that is mentioned above, there is a 'typo'(i guess) but the accountant makes 75 at Novice, Not at beginner...

Hmm... so perhaps the poet actually began on the 36 pay scale? Maybe the starting salary for that one was reported incorrectly. Please stick with it and report as many levels as you can.

A few pages back we discussed that some new adoptees and some new spouses actually start at the novice level rather than beginner and that caused some errors in the beginning of our data collection.

That spreadsheet was created by mosaic, so it would be up to him to update it. Credit for collecting all the information on careers goes to Simsane. I used his data in addition to what I had collected to come up with the pay scales. And, of course, data submission was done by the wonderful VF community on these forums.

Thanks for the help!

You have basically the same list as I do.
I"m working on confirmation of several of them right now. Most master out tomorrow morning, but I will be out of town. I think it's obvious which of the 45 pay scales they are on though.
Basket Maker (1) 45 (2) 60 (3) 75 (4) 90 (5) 120 (6) 165
Screenplay Writer (1) 36, (2) 54 (3) 66 (6) 240 (7) 450
Soup Taster (1) 45 (2) 54 (3) 66 (4) 81 (5) 99
I also have an envelope stuffer going as I was unsure which of the 45 pay scales they were on.

Edit: correcting an error in screenplay writer level 3 - my eyes jumped down a line

I've updated the spreadsheet and added 2 more tabs. One sorts by beginner salaries, one by master salaries. Of course, the ones that are missing end up at the bottom of the list.

Wow, everyone is so busy. I don't check this thread for a few days and lots more data has come in! Thanks for helping out! You guys are doing all the work!

Here are a few I have:

MAGAZINE EDITOR 1)60 2)75 3)90 4)114 5)144 6)180 7)225 8)285

ONLINE GOLD FARMER 1)42 2)54 3)66 4)81 5)99 6)120 7)150 8)210

TECH CONSULTANT 1)45 2)60 3)75 4)96 5)120 6) 165 7)? 8)270

Thanks Mosaic for starting the spreadsheet. I am sure about the Online Gold Farmer starting at $42 not $45 as I was keeping track before I found your comprehensive list. I have also seen other posts about a different salary path starting at $42 than the ones starting at $45 but I can't find them now. Anyone else had that experience?

Delaney,
How do you close out and restart for more options with the childrens salaries? Once in the new generation screen, I don't seem to have an option to leave that screen before selecting a child...

I was wondering the same thing cause I don't have an option to close out of that screen either. Do you use your Ctrl/Alt/Delete to shut the game down?

I want to tell people sorry for dropping the ball on this thread -- I'm really glad others have picked it up for me. smile I have just been too into playing, lol! I finally have 3, 4 and even one 5th gen families and have been so engrossed in them that I keep forgetting to write stuff down. I'll try to remember to pay more attention again.

Anyway, kudos to everyone else who has been working so diligently on this thread and the information contained in it!

It's good to hear from you, Simsane. I have to admit, I have been a lil caught up in real life stuff the past few days and haven't been keeping track of salary data as well as I was. I should have long finished the pay scales by now. I think one more windows user would give me all the remaining salary data I need to have a complete list; I just simply don't have the time at the moment. Congrats on your multi gens - I'm glad you're enjoying the game!

Yes, I think they use ctrl/alt/del to close the game for the salaries and the tax emails as well.

Ditto the pats on the backs to those who have picked up work and helped out so much with this thread. laugh

You don't need to use Ctrl+Alt+Delete, just click on the X at the top right-hand corner of the window, without accepting any of the choices. Dunno about what someone playing in full screen would do, but Alt+F4 should work.

Hi to you, as well, Bayou Blonde! [[simsane's waving and smiling]]

I didn't think of Alt+F4 arnie, thanks! Yea, I do play fullscreen, I can't stand playing most games in a window. Weird, I know, but that's me -- uberweird, lol!

(edit) I wanted to add that this information was gathered from throughout this thread, Some from Mosiac(sorry if i didnt spell that right). But For the most part The credit for this should go to BayouBlonde and Simsane, They have worked hard to keep this thread going. And to all of you who have contributed. the main thing i have done is put it all in one place, I just figured, i would add this, i dont want anyone to think that i am taking the credit for something that i truly didnt have much to do with...Thanks for letting me help.

Thanks so much, Vanna.
Here's some of your missing info - this is from my own data, on this window's user:
Screenplay Writer (1) 36, (2) 54 (6) 240 (7) 450 (8) 510
Day Trader (1) 105 (3) 84 (4) 165

I may have some on the other user names. I'll check them and post if I do.

Vanna and company! Such a great job!!

Rats! I've got a math tutor now. I didn't save the first couple, but level 4 is 81. I'll keep you posted. She's "carrying twins" right now, so it'll be a bit.

Thank you Vanna, but I've been really slack on this thread for a while now, so don't give me any credit. smile I need to take the time to start over and recreate my charts based on all the new info that everyone's been adding. I try to remember to write down the pay for the different levels, but half the time I'll open my game and they've gone from say, level 3 to level 5 and I never even saw the pay for level 4, lol! That's mainly why I was just trying to list the pay for level 8 as once it's at that, it stays at that level. laugh

This is some really great information perhaps they could add some kind of chart with all the careers and salary levels as an appendage to the official guide.

Great! Vanna, glad to hear someone is on same wavelength as i am. I just printed mosaic's google spreadsheet and it is a really comprehensive guide I would love to have the full list though. I installed the game on both my laptop and desktop so now have a family going on each.I'll check my peeps and see where they are career wise, maybe I can fill in a few blanks

Day Trader novice has also been reported at 90 in this post. If you search the forums, you can find multiple posts with all different salaries reported for every level of day trader salary except the beginning salary, which is always 105.
This post
Level 2 pays 60
There are many others, but those are the ones that mention the novice level pay.

Oh nice - thanks for the poet info! (Looks like she might max out at 210?)

Dzrt1st - Children do not have careers. Between the ages of 18 & 19 they will go off to college, and once the parents pass, the twins will be in your new generation selection process, with careers then. (Note: Only one person will be able to carry on the new generation)

So, Vanna, what are your figures for poet altogether?
I'm going to compare with the three other lists I have and see if I can get us a complete pay scale out of them. It looks like it is definitely a separate scale of it's own though.

I have a telemarketer and cocktail inventor running now. I just hope I don't miss the ones we need for those.

The funny thing is, you missed the exact same levels of poet as I did! I have (3) 66? but from two sources and (4) 114? only one source and it doesn't seem to "fit" with the rest of the scale. My other numbers match yours and are the same as those I collected myself.

Oddly enough, our day traders had the exact same scale. tkd, that is exactly what I did - I kept my day trader at level 7 as long as I possibly could. I would stop her from working and kept her nursing as much as possible. hehe

Yea, i have those also, but i agree, it doesn't seem to fit. I think someone used your pay scale and added in information thinking that it would be the same up until level 8. The whole day trader has got me confused. How/why would they program it so that most levels were different besides one. I think since we both have the same info on the day trader we should think about Just putting in that scale. I personally think it would have been too difficult to program (only one career) that fluctuates at all levels for each player, I think we were misinformed about the other levels Like 3 different ones for novice. I am going to go ahead and get another day trader and see how the pay scale does once more. if it is the same i am going to leave it as i have it in the chart. Hope that's okay. Let me know when you have the cocktail Inventor and telemarketer.

For what it's worth, my Day Trader stuck to the same progression you posted:

(1) 105 (2) 60 (3) 84 (4) 165 (5) 120 (6) 96 (7) 510 (8) 240

I have been keeping track of my peeps salaries progressions almost from the start (five families, two of which are gen. 7, two gen. 6, and one 5), so if there's anything I can do to add to the information here, I'd enjoy being able to help. Today was the first time I ran across this thread, and I'm thrilled to find the info compiled here. Many thanks to those who have taken the time to put this together. smile

Went back and looked through some more, and found I had a Nonfiction Writer whose salary progression was:

(1) 36 (2) 45 (3) 57 (4) 72 (5) 87 (6) 165 (7) 225 (8) 390

Hi. Salary info for Wood Sculptor is: (2) 75 (3) 90
Telemarketer: (6) 165

I have been keeping up my peep's salaries since the very begining and have quite a spreadsheet list. I also was curious about the careers, so before I started one family, I went through peep after peep after peep, noting down career and salary level before I finally adopted one and started that family. I have a list of 103 different careers.

Thanks for the update Lewanda! smile

One of the children turned out to be a fiction writer, but I didn't adopted that one, so no idea about the salary. smile

You'll get the trophy Moonlyght - just make more families!! hehe I have three perfect matches, but it's only because I have so many families I'm sure. I only had one before I updated my game and started over.

Oops, my bad. I left it out. This is what we have for Fiction Writer: (1) 60 (2) 75 (3) 90 (4) ? (5) ? (6) ? (7) ? (8) 390

Thanks to Lewanda for the master salary. It looks like it may be on the same 60 scale as Wood Sculptor.

Lewanda, I just started two new toaster repairers, less than ten minutes before coming to forums! lol I wish I hadn't now. :P Thanks so much for the info!

*laughs*

I did that on my first generations, now I choose the peep I liked the most during the game. I'm getting too sentimental, I guess. smile

Yes, with my first three games I was reading this thread avidly for the first few generations to choose peeps that earned the most. Now they've all got more money than they can spend, so I've not bothered with the recent generations.

I started a new game the other day, however, and chose a peep who is a video game designer and who'll earn $690 when he gets to be a master. Oddly enough, the third proposal that came in was a perfect match, so I'll have two of them earning top money soon.

My Day Trader started at $210 and went down and up a couple of times and mastered at $280. Real bummer!

BayouBlonde, I noticed you didn't have all the numbers for the Ketchup Bottler salary. For what it's worth, mine stuck to the progression (1) 45 (2) 54 (3) 66 (4) 81 (5) 99 (6) 120 (7) 150 (8) 210.

Thank you!! I'm having trouble getting my new gens or proposals to have those last few careers that we still need. frown I'm afraid to turn down more than two proposals. lol I do have a few more numbers to add though and will try to post an update later today.

I just adopted a Novice Candy Designer who is starting out at Level 2 with a salary of $105. I'm not sure if this is the same career you have listed above as Candy Maker or if it's yet another different career, but I'll keep an eye on the salary progression just in case.

Many thanks to you, BayouBlonde, for taking the time to consolidate all this random info into an easy-to-consult chart. *gives you green praise glove times 2*...don't want you to run away 'cause you think I'm nagging. *grin*

I know! I couldn't believe it the first time career advancement brought a lower salary, and was really surprised by the fact that the highest level was less than half of the previous one. shocked

Arnie, I had two soap inventors, and by the second gen they had about everything that could be bought in the game. smile

You made me giggle so my hubby thinks I've lost it again! (Every time I grin or giggle at the monitor he looks at me like I'm nuts. It's ok though, I do the same to him when he shouts at the game on tv. :P)

I can't take all the credit. Originally the career list was being compiled by Simsane, with beginning and master salaries. I was doing pay scales at all levels that applied to all careers. Then Vanna kind of assumed work on the career list as Simsane became busy with other things. Vanna's her computer is down, so for the time being it's just me. lol

I've checked my lists and I don't have the Candy career on any of my own lists, which means none of my lil peeps have had it. On the other lists it is reported as "Candy Maker" on all but one, which reports only the starting salary as 90 for "Candy Designer." I have a feeling they are the same and people mixed up the name, but ya never know!

LOL...I know, right? Talking to (or laughing at) the computer is no less sane than yelling at the TV. At least I'm not talking to myself. Well...not often, I mean. :P

I had a really bad upset tummy tonight, and I had the urge to just sit on the floor in the hopes that the "Great Hand in the Sky" would bring me some peptic syrup so I'd feel all better. laugh

You've got to admit, Candy Designer sounds ever so much more sophisticated than Candy Maker does. grin So far this career looks like it's sticking with one of the standard salary progressions:
(2) 105 (3) 129 (4) 144... I'll know for sure when she reaches Level 8.

I wonder why the Mustard Bottler makes more than the Ketchup Bottler does. Sounds like condiment discrimination to me...

I almost woke him up giggling at that one. I hope you don't mind if I quote that on the "You know you're a VF addict when..." thread. Too funny! Oh, and I do hope you are feeling better now.

Maybe Arthur likes mustard more than ketchup? lol In my house, the ketchup bottler would make waaay more. I never seem to buy enough of the stuff.

I've just started three new gens and waited for the third proposal on two of them with no luck on the careers we need. I'm tempted to start a couple of new families, but I know I just can't handle any more. I already have a few on pause. frown

I'm starting a bunch of new games since I'm on vacation, so I'll try to find a candy designer and/or a candy maker!

I have a rocket scientist that started at $105, $129, $?, $144, $168, $195 and just reached Level 7 at $234. His salary progression doesn't match any other occupation that I can see.

I'll give you an update as soon as my peep progresses. Missed some of the earlier amounts though.

Thanks Arnie! I've added that one to the exceptions list, as it is complete now.

Ajuma, wait wait!! lol If you are starting new games, we need a Cocktail Inventor and/or a Fiction Writer, PLEASE!! And, if you have time, please do check to make sure we don't have any others missing from the list. *puppy eyes*

Pandora, thank you. It looks like we have another exception. I was wondering why the adverts all say "tiny rocket scientist" but I never saw that as a career.

Serendipity, thank you very much! That's enough that I can tell which of the 45 scales it will be, as long as you can confirm the master salary of 210.

I finally nabbed a Fiction Writer (as a spouse for my Non-Fiction Writer, go figure. :P) So, hopefully I can fill in a few of those missing numbers soon.

I remembered I had a Telemarketer and checked when I saw that you had a level missing; I found she had just reached that level. Right after I posted there was an event that bumped her up to the next level. If I'd read the post five minutes later I'd have missed it.

That reminds me I need to check on my Fiction Writer! I've been playing with image editing and letting my little families feel neglected, I'm sure.

Thanks for the heads up, Barbara. I'll add it the career list on the 90 scale. smile

Ok, BayouBlond! I'll get myself a coctail inventor! I just went through a whole bunch of adoptees (like for 10 minutes!) and only saw a "candy designer", no "candy maker". There IS a "candle maker" so maybe someone got confused.

Are there any others you need?

Edit: Level 1: $42
Level 2: $54

Alex is really a hard worker!

Edit Reason: added 2 levels
