It is a day of feasting and rejoicing.
My little sister Leila found the last collectable, a green feather. With each collectable (12 feathers, trutle shells, seashells and tablet pieces that told the story of our beloved city,) we would increase in souls by five per collections
And with the last feather found, we have reached the grand total of 120.
Our Tribal Chief, Yen, is now 65 years old and has been a good leader. Like so many of our Chiefs. Many who were my ancesters.
My eldest sister Risa's little girl, Rosa, is also two years old this day. So it is a great day,
But my story is not about the tribe, though it does concern them. Or my little niece Rosa, though she plays a role in this story too.
My story is about Grannie's Alchemy.
Builded some 274 years ago, its secrets have been handed from generation, to generation.
My name is SunRay, third daughter of SunRise and Sandra.
But everyone calls me Ray.
This is my story.

With the death of our beloved Chief Yen, the next person the Robe fit was my father-in-law, Tobi. He now leads our tribe.
Soon after, my sister Risa told me she was having another child.
And I learned so was I! So it seems that with the all of the collectables, it isn't 120, but 125 that is the maximum souls that the City could hold.

My story begins over 270 years ago, when this part of Islao was founder by eight explorers.
They were send out by their Leader from the West side of the island, not only because their land could hold no more people, but to learn more about the wonderful island they call home.
After weeks at sea, their raft crashed upon the shores of this land, a once beautiful city, now in ruins.
Amoung the survivors was a woman named Taji.
She had a head for science and worked hard to restore the the Alchemy.
Taji would die a young woman due to a work accident. The lab blew up from the very first portion the chief had made, killing Taji.
But she left a young daughter who carried her name and love of science and of herbs.

It was a sad day when Taji died.

Taji had one older child, who had died from illess at age 9. Her only survinig child, Taji, was only 5 years old when her mama died.
But the tribe took very good care of the girl, collectively raising the beauitful little girl who looked just like her mama.
But, out of fear, it would be several years before anyone tried the portions again.

One day, while conducting research, 14 year old Taji was be relentlessly harassed by a noisy, squawking bird. So persistent is the bird, that it would almost seem that it is deliberately trying to disrupt research!

Taji watched the bird. Somehow she felt the bird was trying to tell her something. Her mother always told her to watch the creatures about her; they were amoung her greatest teachers.
So Taji left the bird alone. Then suddely, Yaji found that the bird had a piece of paper in his claw which was a recipe to give more energy, black orchid + tiger lily + cactus.
Taji gingerly tried the portion.
It didn't blow up!
The small tribe tried the portion and found themselves needing to excercise! The portion, which would give the tribe enegery helped to build nuscle and all gained the skills needed as builders.

So little Taji, at age 14, began the student of Ali, an older, but kinder man. He too had just lost his wife, leaving him to raise 2 year old Elf.
When Taji was 18, she begame Ali's wife and with Ali, had seven sons and one daughter, Allie, named after her father.
Taji stopped working in the Alchemy for many years, for she was a nursing mum.
But Taji was a quick study and dispite the time she had to take off to care for a baby, she continued her work in the Alchemy.

Ali was a good man.
But one day Ali did die of old age.

Taji then married Elf. And they too had seven children.

Six girls and one son, named Taj after his mother and grandmother. Like thier parents, all seven would grow up to be Master Scientists.

Right after the birth of her last child and only son by Elf, Taji, now a Master Parnet, could fully give herself to the arts of Alchemy.
It was during this time that the fire burned out. Usually, this was something that was upsetting, for then the air would go cold and there would be great sickness.
But on this day, there was found a large diamond in the corals.
Taji wisely told the tribe to pour water onto the stone, lest anyone burn themselves.
Once cooled, Chief Ahi, the tribe's firsst Chief, picked up the Diamond and following Taji's adivse, placed the Diamond in its place in the Great Door.
The Great Door sat on top of the cliff, overlooking the whole Ciity. The Door barred the way to whatever was on the other side.
Once the Diamond fitted, there was great rejoicing.

The next day, after the first of the Three Stones were placed in the door, Chief Ahi, the first Chief of Isola died.
There was great mourning.
After a time, the Robe waited for another to don it.
First it was the children, then the adults.
Surely it would fit Elf!
No!
It was the beloved Taji who was now Chief.
And @ 59 years old and a Master Parent, she was well prepared to lead our tribe.

A year later, while working in the Alchemy, her eldest granddaughter, Tashi watching her every move, Taji stumbled across a potion that was rather interesting.
One part Rose. One part Lotus. And one part Cactus. Taking some of the potions, Taji felt light and springy.
Hmmm, Taji thought. This gave her an idea.
There was a Ruby key upon a Cliff's edge that no one could reach. But the potion made Taji feel she could reach it.
And she did!
So, the Second of Three Stones were in their place.

Little Tashi loved hanging about what she called "Grannie's Alchemy."
Grannie would always come up with something fun.
Like two part Rose and one lotus caused everyone to dance, even Grandfather Elf who didn't like to dance.

Taji was the happiest of all women.
She not only led the tribe she loved who was made up of family and friends, but worked the Alchemy she loved.

Of all her children, it was her youngest child and only son by Elf, Taj that took the most interest in his mother's work.

"What are you working on, now, Mama." Young Taj, once asked.
Taji smiled at her little boy.
The only of her children with curly, ginger colored hair. "Where did you come from, love one?" Taji would often smile. The girls, mostly grown and the eldest girls by she and Elf were now wed. Her daughter Allie, named after her late father was also wed and had two children, Tashi and now little Hashi. Since they all loved the Science and Research, it was Taj who was interested in the Alchemy.
How he longed for the day to prepare his own potions.
But for now, Taj had to be contend gathering herbs for his Mama and learning as he watched his Mama, Papa and older sisters.
But then came that sad day that changed all their lives.

Chief Taji was 65 years old when she died.
Elf at 48 was still a young man, but loved no woman than Taji.
He devoted himself to the three youngest children still living in his hut and the Alchemy they both loved.

The next Chief was Bau, Taji's second son. He later wed Zaina.

Taj loved to work with his father. He would run and gather about the herbs and plants his Papa needed, but also made sure the doctors had the herbs they needed as well.
When Taj was 14 years old, Elf allowed Taj to assist him in the Alchemy.
Hands on is the best way to learn.
One day, Taj decicded to try the portion his Mama had been working before she died; a portion that would taime the Sharks and the villagers could fish in peace and safey.
So he swtiched one of the components: one part Rose, one part Lotus and one part Golden Berries (found just before Taji's death)
Taj's first try resulted with the portion blowing up.
His sister Deanna quickly made the health portion, three parts Cactus, saving her little brother's life.
Later, when Taj was recovered, Elf reminded him of the risk and dangers in the Alchmey and one must always work with care.
But the best teacher is our mistakes.
So, Taj tried the portion again.
And this time it worked!
Since it was Taj's portion, it was Taj who had the honour of pouring the vial into the waters.
Watching the colour portion fill the waters, the Sharks became calmer and just began circling, but never again attacked the villiagers.
There was great rejoicing that evening.

Elf continued the work of the Alchemy, but he also enjoyed telling stories to his children and grandchildren. What life was like before ochard grew and the herbs were found. Despite the hardships the Founders began to restore the City's fomer glory and of course the great love story of he and their mother and grandmother.
At age 60, Elf gained a great honour.
So was his knowledge and skills, he master every skill needed in the Village, earning the title, Jack of All Trades.
But it is easier just to say JOAT.

Now 72, Elf was an old man and watched his wonderful family grow into fine adults.
His only sadness? That he would not live to see Zaina or Taj's children.
The City only hold 35 souls at the time.

And then came the day that 20 year old Taj thought he found a great wonder.
The Rose was the sweetest of all of the plants used in the Alchemy. Taj decided to try a new portion, three parts Rose.
Now Paka, eldest daughter of Omar and Pickle had a crush on Taj, but Taj never thought of her than more than a good friend.
Omar, the eldest son of the late Chief Ahi and Elf were best friends and would have loved to see their children joined.
Pickle, now the eldest woman, told the best stories and was, after the death of Taji, became mother and grandmother to the village.

Well, Taj tried what he thought was a new portion. Elfand Deanna, who had been watching the whole time, said nothing.
Just smiled.
"I think I will go and find Paka." Was all Taj said.
After Taj left, Deanna asked her Papa, "are you going to tell him the truth."
Elf smiled. "Yes, but not for a while."
For it was not Taj, but Elf that had found the Romance portion years ago.
And gave it to the widow Taji.
"And will you also tell him that why each of us his sisters have the middle name, Rose?"
Elf nodded. "in time."

All rejoiced with the joining of Paka and Taj.

But sadness soon followed.
Elf never saw any of his great-grandchildren. He did at 75. Shorty followed by his best friend, Omar.

It was only this way, more children were born.

Taj continued his parnets work in the Alchmey.
Since the Sharks were now tame, food was plenty and life was good. Pickle continue to tell stories to the children, one could always find her surrounded by the village children.

But under Taj, there were more bad portions made than good.
And yet, like all Scienist, Taj knew the best way to learn was from his mistakes.
The worse? One part Tiger Lily, one part Lotus and one part Black Orchid.
Taj thought he had found another treat for the village children.
Instead, it send everyone to the Bathroom.
Then there was the Lonely Feelings. Two parts Roses, one part Black Occhid. It took the Happy Feet Portion to cheer Chief Bau up again.
It was from Taj and Paka that my great-great-grandmother would come from.

My daughter Plum and I stand before the Robe of Splendor, wondering who would next wear it.
With several nursing babies, including my own, Sage, we are waiting for them to come of age so that all may have a chance to try on the Robe.
And with 125 people, that is a lot of folk for the Robe to pick from.

The Robe of Splendor.
It was hanging in the Theather when the Founders first arrived.
Ahi was the first to don the Robe and began the first Chief. He found that he could restore food in the food bin.
But only only a day.
Later, when Ahi learned to Dance, he used his powers to Rain Dance, thus bringing forth the seed to restore the Orchard.
Taji was the next Chief, but she lived only another six years.
Her son Bau followed after her death.

The next Chief was a young boy of 10 years old.
Stronge was the nephew of Chief Bau. His father, Lapo had just died and he had an twin brother, Brave.
Stronge's powere were the same as the others, excpet teaching the other children. He would have to grow up to do that.

A tribe is a lot to put on young shoulders. But his Mama Deanna assured him that he would do well.

In the meantime, Taj and Paka began their life together and begun a family.

First came Tiji and Pearl, then son Taji

Then came sons, Pine and Parker.

And Chief Stronge could always be found where the family gathered.

Stronge grew into his name; a stronge, wise man. And the village reflected his wisdom and spirit.
They worked hard to restore the City, filling the food bin to over flowing and becoming Master builders, parnets, scienist, farmers and healers. It would be by Stronge's leadership that the City is restored.

A handsome man as well, it was the quiet, sweet Tiji, eldest daughter of Taj and Paka that won his heart.
One spring day, Strong got the bright idea to give Tiji a small bouquet of roses and lotus. They were soon wed.

Pearl, Taj's second daughter, married Elf-Vanua, named after the beloved Elf.

It is from Stronge and Tiji, Elf and Pearl, that my great-great-grandfather comes from....

As I look at the faces about me, I see so many of those who went before us in them. I feel their spirits in our people and of course the Guiding Hand that Watches over us all.
I see everyone, but Taji.

Mama and Papa would be so proud. The Robe chose my younger brother, eldest of the triplets, Flame as the new Chief.
he had just wed Zania, daughter of Sage and Oro, and now before they had children of their own, had a family 123 people to lead and serve.....

At 39 years old, Chief Stronge now overseeing a most, exciting project: the restoration of the fallen Stature, known by all as the Beautiful lady.

Paka, now Taj's widow, a Master Builder in her own right, builded the Scaffold for the fallen Stature. At the time, her eldest granddaugher, Mocha, Strong and Tiji's daughter was just two years old.
It would take ten years, but when Mocha was 22 years old, the Staure was restored and great was the celebrating.

The tribe took time to rejoice over the Chief's only child, Mocha being joined to Obi-Hashi, before the final project the City's restoration was complete.

[color:#330033][i][b]Teens!

Because the ocean teems with fish, there is little illness and many doctors, the huts are in good shape and the orchard is well dressed and bursting with friut, the teenagers of The City have little to do, unless they themselves take intersrt in learning a trade.
Their school years are now over and yet they are still too young to wed and have children.
So, daily, a small band of teenagers between the ages of 14 and 18 congregate at the Village Fire, laying about and watching the clouds float by, refusing to be moved by the annoyed looks of their elders.
Finally, I had enough.
So, with baby Elf in my arms, and since my second eldest son Koro is one of the lazy bones, I marched my 19 year redhead boy into the Alchemy, to begin his training.

His younger sister, Plum, is now a Master Sciencist and yet, Koro still cannot tell the different between a TigerLily and a Cactus.
And so began the end of the Lay-About Teens.
Koro made his first potion.
One part TigerLily. One part Black Orchid, One part Cactus.
The excerise portion.

A year later, we found a crate of coffee beans. I brewed them up and after the tribe "worked until they dropped," our young ones are now adept and masters in their trades. Koro has founded his older brother and younger sister as Scienist....

....Chief Stronge did not have such a problem with his daughter, Mocha.
Both he and his wife, Lady Tiji, never allowed Mocha to receive special treatment because she was the Chief’s daughter.
She studied with the other children and was mentored by her Mama in the Alchemy. But her father wanted Mocha to know the full workings of the village, and thus, Mocha also learned the skills of medical, building, farming and until the day she began a Mama, Mocha could be found telling stories to the younger children.
Mocha’s daughter, Honey was just two years old when her great-grandmother, Paka, the Master Builder, polished off the rough white stone into a smooth white pearl. After it was clean, washed and polished, Paka was given the honour as the eldest villiager, switched the Black Pearl from the Great Claw with the White Pearl and then slowly walked up the Ramp, to place the third and final stone into the Grand Door.
This Door had barred the villiagers from the Cave and once the here Gems were in place, they were really keys that opened the Grand Door, revealing greater grandur.
Inside was a Grand Hall, a Hall of awe and wonderful. One could not help but wonder what it was it’s use. On the Center Wall was a Protrait of an ancient Royal couple.
Cheif Strong notice a large Sundial. He turned it and slowly as if in a dream, the ancient figures stood before the whole tribe and told the their story and how our people came to these shores over a thousend years ago.

Mocha turned out to be the eldest of Chief Strong and Lady Tiji. They went on to have three more daughters and then fours sons. Three of the boys looked like our Father Elf, but still none daughters born to any of the tribe who looked our Mother Taji.
The City had reached its limit as to hold many she could hold, so Mocha and Obi had only one child, Princess Honey. The second daughter, named after Tiji's mother, Paka, joined with Obi's younger brother Fleece and they had one son, Cobra.
Chief Strong was the one who first named his granddaughter Princess, and the name struck.
Chief Strong loved his two grandchildren and was very proud of them.
When several elderly villagers died, more grandchildren were born and Chief Strong lived to see even great-grandchildren.

It was Lady Tiji who at this time Mastered the Alchemy, teaching her grandchildren the craft.
How I would have loved to been there when Lady found the potion that transports one from one part of the City to another: 2 part TigerLiy-one part Golden Berry.
Or Who Turned Off the Lights: one part Golden Berry-Black Orhard-Cactus.
Lady Tiji also found the potion that made adults look for mushrooms: two part TilyLily-one part rose petals.
And according to her notes, Lady Tiji was the one that the tradition of when one turns four-teen years old, every teenager would recieved, after their first bath in the Aroma Therapy Bath the Exericise potion.
I need to reintroduce that tradition.

*Correction: Pearl was joined to Elf-Vanua, not Fleece. This was a mixup of names from another story. Sorry for the confusion. I have also included the tale of the Spirits*

Mocha’s daughter, Honey was just two years old when her great-grandmother, Paka, the Master Builder, polished off the rough white stone into a smooth white pearl. After it was clean, washed and polished, Paka was given the honour as the eldest villager, switched the Black Pearl from the Great Claw with the White Pearl and then slowly walked up the Ramp, to place the third and final stone into the Grand Door.
This Door had barred the villagers from the Cave and once the here Gems were in place, they were really keys that opened the Grand Door, revealing A Great, Grand Hall of Wonder. One could not help but wonder what had been used for. On the Center Wall was a Portrait of an ancient Royal couple.
Chief Strong noticed a large Sundial. He turned it and slowly as if in a dream, the ancient figures stood before He turned it and slowly as if in a dream, the ancient figures stood before the whole tribe and told the their story and how our people came to these shores over a thousand years ago. It was a sad tale, of how this once beautiful island was destroyed through the imbalance of Nature and Majic. The spirits hope and wish that we, their will one day bring back that balance. If not us, then our children or grandchildren.
Chief made sure that we, his children knew our history and our part in the continuing life and restoration of our beloved island.

All but one of the City's sercet's had been revealed: how to find a way to join a Prince and Princess of each Fraction and restore the balance of the island. Until then, there was really nothing left but enjoy the Beauty of the City and our peaceful lives.
Mocha and Obi had two children, Princess Honey and then several years later a son.
Princess Honey grew into a beautiful young woman. Quiet, she didn't care for crowds, dancing or parties.
Yet it was the fun loving Ian, who loved parties, dancing and crowds that won the Honey's heart.
Honey and Ian had many children.
The first, Ian named after her Mama, Honey.
Then was born the tribe's first set of triples: Aslan, Asa, and Ash. Then a girl Crystal, another set of triples Ianna, Alaina and Zania, little Deana and then Vanua.

Chief Strong lived to see his beloved granddaughter Honey have a family of her own and even know some of his great-grandchildren.
He often teased Honey that she could have a tribe of her own.
Mocha and Obi enjoyed spending time with their grandchildren.
The first was Honey, named by her family in honour of her mother.
Then the birth of the Tribe's first set of triples; sons Aslan, Asa and Ash, all three boys looked like their father. Then Crystal, another set of trilpes, this time girls named after the daughters of Taji and Elf: Ianna, Alain and Zaina. Next was Deanna, and lastly Vanua, after Ian's family.
But it Crystal that caused the most stir.

Crystal.
Like Taji and her namesake, the Second Chief Taji, Crystal was a one of a kind beauty.
Like Taji, there has been no woman before or after that was born with her rare beauty.
While Taji’s eyes were the colour of a Raven, her long straight hair just as black, Crystal’ s hair was thick and curly, the colour of corn husk, her eyes Crystal blue, That’s why she so named. While the rest of the children looked like family members that were still alive or long passed, Crystal had a look all her own.
Chief Strong adored Crystal, a girl who learned to study and had a quick mind. He enjoyed taching her the art of Alchemy himself and when he and Lady Tiji died, they had lived long enough to see Crystal grow up, marry and have children of her own.

Like her mama, Crystal went on to have a large family.
First there was Angel, because of his angle fine hair. Angel liked the soil and was often found following his papa as he went fishing or dresses the fruit trees.

The next child was a girl. Have you ever seem the sun when it rises on a hot summer morning, the colour of flames? When that was the colour of this wee one's hair.
So she was named SunRay.
Sons Sun and Taj followed.
And then, when SunRay was 47 years old, she and Sandy recieved two suprises: that SunRay was once again expecting and this time, they were be triples.

SunRay was thrilled! No longer did she feel the odd-one now that she looked just like her mama.
But it took Crystal and the rest of not just the family, but the whole village to get use to.
For Crystal looked like her eldest daughter.
But Mama said Grandfather loved her just the same....

My Mama was the eldest of the triples, Sandy. She would grow up and marry of of the Chief's grandson, SunRise.
My two older sisters, Risa and Tikina look just like Mama.
But I, the third daughter, look just like my Grannie and my Aunt SunRay.
And so I was named.

I remember little about my Grannie Crystal. I used to follow her in the Alchemy, watching her work over the huge black pot, delighting in the bubbles that sometimes would form, at other times I would run out when the green-black smoke would fill the room.
But Grannie would always smell of rose petals.
She would tell me: "SunRay watch carefully and learn. One day, this shall be all yours."
I am now 67 years old, my grandchildren now come and watch me in the Alchemy.
I look at their faces, wondering which of my six grandchildren will wish to learn the art of the Alchemy.
None right now.
But whenever I gather rose petals, I think of my Grannie.

I loved those few years with my Grannie, though I really don’t remember much. Papa would tell me how I would follow her about like our pet monkey.
After she died, Aunt SunRay took over her job and I would assist her as well. But she would not permit me to make a potion.
“Not until you are 14 years old and had your first bath in the Aroma bath.” Aunt SunRay would say this time I asked her when i could try my hand at a potion.
But I remember the first one she allowed me to help with: the exercise potion. Of course this meant I also tried it and found myself working out with the others.
"You must be willing to try the potion yourself before you allow anyone else, Ray," Aunt SunRay would say. "This way, if something goes wrong...and it can, the only person that gets hurt is you."
I always reminded that.
I was 11 years old when Aunt SunRay died. So she never got to begin my training. But I know she is still proud of how I turned out.

Princess Honey and Ian died when Mama and her sisters were just four years old.
They died at a very old age and very happy. Grannie said it was good that they died together; one would not have been able to go on without the other very long.
My grandchildren often wish to see the pictures from that time.
But is hard for me to view them: for all of them are now in Paradise and I still miss each of them very much.
Though I do see them in the faces of my children and my grandchildren.
Aunt SunRay told some of the most interesting stories....
She told how her Aunt Deanna was 42 years old when she finally was married and had children.
By the time Deanna was 18, all of the men were older and married. The rest were still babies and too young. So for many years, Deanna watched her married brothers and sisters, happy with children of their own. Even her brother, Vanua the baby of the family, was now married.
Her Mama told her not to give up, be patient. You never know what the Guiding Hand has for her.
One day, while Deanna was fishing, a young, handsome man was rolling his canoe upon shore. He had come from the West side of the island, looking for adventure. He had heard rumours of parts Islao that had yet been exploded and wanted to seek them out.
His name was Alama.
Deanna and Alama quickly became friends and Deanna was no longer lonely.
But Deanna was having a hard time becoming a mother. So, Great-grandmother Honey made the fertile potion: 2 part rose petals and 1 part cactus.
It worked. Deanna and Alama three sons; triples.

“Part of our job is to give hope, Ray.” Aunt SunRay would tell me each time she made a potion.
I never forgot that.

When Aunt SunRay died, Papa took over my training. Mama had her hands filled with my triple brothers, Flame, Fiery and Fire, and baby sister Leila. He was a good teacher and made learning lots of fun.
Papa’s mama, Grandmother Lei also took part in my education. She was sterner than Papa. And times I didn’t wish to go to the Alchemy if I knew she would be there.
But Mama encouraged me to hang in there, that grandmother Lei only wanted me to be very careful. And then she took me a story I did not know. That her first husband, Den was killed as a result of a Lab accident. They were married only a short time and my Papa was their only child. Grandmother did remarry and have more children. None of them were interested in the Lab.
But Papa was and so Grandmother learned the skills of the Alchemy to make sure Papa and all who came after her were fully trained.
After that, I gave new respect for my beloved Grandmother Lei.
On my 14th birthday, it was time for my first Aroma Therapy bath.
I asked my older sisters what it was like, but they would not tell me.
Only that it was a very spiritual moment not to be shared with anyone.
And they were right.
The bath is warmth, soothing one, surrounded by lit burning oil and Lotus blossoms. Lotus is the flower of enlightenment and the bath is used for healing as well awaking the soul.
After my bath, I found a beautiful blue pearl bracket. I studied for a long time, then realizing there was writing and I could read it.
The words were: Lotus, Lotus, and Lotus.
With Grandmother’s help, I made the potion and drank it.
Suddenly I went into a trance. And then, I went straight to work. And Grandmother didn’t stop me.
She knew I was ready.
That one day I went from Scientist Trainee to Adept Scientist.

She knew I was ready.
That one day I went from Scientist Trainee to Adept Scientist.

The very next day, I hurried to the Lab. I was finally on my way! Following in the steps of Taji, Elf, Taj, Princess Honey and my Grannie and Aunt SunRay.
Without even waiting for Papa or Grandmother Lei, I quickly prepared the Love potion. There was a boy in our tribe I liked very much and wanted to have him drink the potion, have him fall in love with me and we were get married.....
BOOM!

My very first potion exploded, sending everyone running from the Lab.
I was sick for several days, but my health was soon restored. My friend, Prince Ali was one of Papa’s student and he made the health stored potion for me. Three part Cactus.
Grnadmother wasn’t angry with me as I thought she would be. She was just thankful I wasn’t badly hurt or worse.
She wanted to know what potion I was trying to make.
I had to be honest and told her the truth.
She laughed and smiled. “It wouldn’t have worked, Ray. The potion works on adults, not children or teenagers.”
She never asked who the boy was, but I think she knew....
“So was that boy Papa?” My youngest son, Elf asked. Now 17 years old, the last of my children was now a Master Scienist. Just as I when I was his age.
“No. And don’t ever tell your Papa that.”....

The next time I tried the Love potion, it worked out much better than any of us thought.
My eldest sister Risa was now a young and finished her training in the Lab. She really wanted to be a Doctor, but mama insisted that she learned the skills in the Alchemy first.
She never had much faith in the potion. She thought their outcome more luck than anything else.
And then came the day Risa came to me with a charge. She knew Asher loved her, but was too shy to ask her to marry him.
“So let’s see if this stuff really works. Make me the Love Potion.”
I did. Three parts rose petals.
It was a beautiful wedding and Risa named their little girl Rosa.

Then I tried the potion that smells Yummy and brings every child to the Big Black Pot for a sip.

And the one that causes everyone in the village to babble. That one is so funny to watch....

Prince Ali.
A handsome, quiet boy, unlike his older brother Angel, named after his father, who liked parties and crowds. Ali, however loved potions and working in the Alchemy. Often Papa would allow Prince Ali and me to work together.
We worked so well together and had so much fun that when we were 18 years old, our families agreed that we could be married.

Like my Mama and Grannie before me, I took time off from the Lab to have a large family.
First, there was a son we named after my father who did not live to see his namesake.

SunRise was followed by brothers Sun, Koro and then sisters, Plum, Sanda and Crystal. Sanda was so named because she looked like my last mama. Crystal was given my Grannie’s name, whom our Crystal also looked like. The Last of our children was Elf. He was given the name of our most honoured Founder and Fore Father, Elf-Ali.

Ali and I are now the proud grandparents of six grandchildren and have learned more are on the way. Ali and I hope the Guiding Hand will allow us to see Elf marry and have a family of his own.
It is India, my eldest granddaughter, and eldest child of my firstborn, SunRise and his wife Indian that is now showing some interest in the Alchemy.
I will be honoured to teach her.

It is a time of both great rejoicing and sadness.
Elf, the last of our children, is now 18 years old.
He married his beloved, Sage, daughter of Wise and Tikina. I remember when Sage was born, how she was one of my best students. Little did I realize that one day I would also call her; daughter. Now Ali and I await the birth of their first child.
http://www.ldwforums.com/ubbthreads/ubbt...hemy#Post177806
Yet it is a sad time.
For my eldest sister Risa has died. She was 76 years old. Asher had died the year before. She leaves behind four children; Rosa, Kava, Fatu, and Bau. Tikina is only a few years younger and hopes to live long enough to see her daughter Sage and Elf’s baby. I am now 67, the triples Chief Flame, Fiery, and Fire 65. Even baby sister Leila is now 58. So we are all getting up in years
It seems just like yesterday we were all children, playing hide and seek Amoung the fruit trees. Now we are watching our grandchildren to do as we grow older and ever closer to sleeping with our fore fathers.
Risa’s daughter Rosa was the first of my students. A bright girl, she thought me rather mean. At one point, she was ready to find another teacher. But her mother wisely advised her teenage daughter to just be patience and work through the difficulty and she would the better for it. And it was true. Together Rosa and I worked through our problems and Rosa quickly master the skills needed in the Lab. I remember my own feeling of harsh I had thought my late Grandmother Lei had been, so I understood how the girl felt. But Rosa needed to know the risk and dangers as well as the joy.
As I had to. Together Rosa and I worked through our problems and Rosa quickly master the skills needed in the Lab.
Her younger brother, Bau did not. He refused to work with me and ran off to learn farming. That didn’t work either and Bau grew to hate learning anything. At 28, he has yet to master any needed skill and can be found swimming, eating or relaxing.
Rosa’s first potion was a great surprise. One part Tiger Lily, two part Golden Berries. She took a sip and suddenly found herself with a bad case of hiccups. The next taught Rosa the importance of listening to directions. I wanted three part rose petals for an upcoming wedding. Instead Rosa gathered three part Golden Berries and to my horror (I learned a lesson that day as well; double check students potions before I let them out the Lab) the groom was Paralyzed. Thankfully, he recovered before the wedding.

The groom, Promise, son of Dare and Cola, was a Scientist himself and knew the inherent dangers of the Lab. He found his beloved ‘mistake’ amusing and Rosa made a lovely bride.
Their son Dodi is now married to my daughter Crystal and we now share grandchildren.
My second sister, Tikina and her husband Wise had a different problem. After years of trying, they could not have a baby. So I made the potion Aunt SunRay taught me: One part rose petals, two parts lotus. Soon, little Wisdom was on his way.
Rosa took time off to start her family, but still liked to stop by to see what I was working on next.
My brother, Flame. The eldest of the triples, Flame was the most serious of the three. He was all work, work, work and no fun.
So one day, I asked for his help in the Lab.
“What would you like me to do?” he asked.
“Try some of the potions for me.” I was carrying Koro at the time and did not wish to do anything that might hurt the child.
“Sure.” He shrugged.
The first potion was two part rose petals and one part lotus. This gave him dancing feet. The whole village stopped to watch Flame dance!
Then there was a Whee Potion. One that is used for adults to have some fun.
“Adults can be so serious at times!” Aunt SunRay would say. “Sometimes we need to remind them to have fun.”
The potion called for three parts Tiger Lily.
So out in the sand Flame went. I don’t I’d ever seen my little brother build a sand castle before.
After that, Flame learned to take time out just to relax.
I believe this is what in part has made him a good Chief in later years.
Shorty after Flame began Chief married Zania, who had a wonderful story of her own. She and Flame had one son, Dino, now one of my students. But shortly after Dino turned 2 years old, Zania was frighten by a bee. She tried to sway at it and was badly strung. Later in the afternoon, Zania died. This time, none of my potions could help.
It took several years, but Flame healed of the lost of his beloved Zania and married Lake Ling. They have two children, Dodi and Flower.
Tikina lived long enough to see Sage and Elf’s first son, Ian.
She is gone now to Paradise.....along with my brothers, Chief Flame, Fire and Fiery.
http://www.ldwforums.com/ubbthreads/ubbt...Alch#Post177892
Amoung my students are not just the children and grandchildren of former students, but also some of my grandchildren. SunRise's daughters, India, China, Asia and Africa are all int interested the Lab.
Elf's son Ian isn't really interested.
But I am hoping the new baby will be.
They named her SunRay.

I am now 77 years old.
I have outlived my parents, all but one of my siblings and many of my friends. I spend much of my time at funerals as I do in the Lab.
Last year, I buried my beloved Ali. We spend more than 50 of our years together and have over 20 grandchildren. Even now, many of our children still have families that are growing.

He would be proud, as would the rest of the family.
Risa and Asher’s grandson, Asher at 9 years old is now our new Chief. His parents His mother Akua is concern about so much weight being put on such young shoulders, but Fatu reminds his wife of our history. Chief Strong was just a year older than Asher and he was an excellent Chief.
So will be Asher.
Flame and Lake’s son Dodi married Tahiti, daughter of Yield and May. Flame’s son by Zaina Dino is now married to my granddaughter Sage. Soon they will have babies of their own.
One day, last year, a handsome young man from West Islao had heard tales of a Secret City and after weeks at sea, found himself in our lovely City. His name was Peku-Ahem. An ancestor of Ahi, our first Chief Ahi, Peku won the heart of my eldest granddaughter India.
Now SunRise and Indian wait to welcome their first grandchildren.
And I will be a great-grandmother. I wish Ali was here to share in our joy.
It is my granddaughters that show the most interest in the Lab. And I know I can trust it in their hands.

I was watching my eldest son with his girls one day. The first thing I noticed that shocked me was his hair was now snow white! My, did he look my Papa, who he was named after.
He and his beautiful wife Indian, had four beautiful daughters; India who is now married and soon to be mum to twins. 13 year Asia, 10 year old China and 9 year old Africa.
Soon, Asia will be trying her hands with potions.
India was working in the Lab when she met Peku. He was already an adept Builder when he arrived, but also rather weak from his travels. She prepared her first potion; health restoration and as she nursed Peku back to health, they fell in love. I remember in her wedding day how often India would ask to hear the story of how her great-aunt Deanna met her husband.
And now here India stood with the man of her dreams.
Asia, India’s 13 year sister also has an interest in healing. The healing arts and the potions go hand in hand, I told her one day.
I remember the story of my own Mama. Risa was just born and Mama began to have very bad stomach cramps. So bad when looking at the ancient scrolls, it was found a treatment, but it was a dangerous one. The elders decided to take the risk and Mama fully recovered and became one of our tribes best Doctors. It told both the Doctors and the Alchemist working together to heal Mama. And since then, both have grown in their respect for one another.
That is why at age 78, I am studying to be a Doctor.
After the birth of twin her girls Lily and Lotus, India was back in the Lab.
Rosa is now teaching more. It is hard to believe that she is now 65 years old. It was just yesterday I was dancing at her parents wedding, that Rosa was gathering herbs for me.
Now, she is teaching in the very Lab she studied.
Her sister Asia is now studying as an adept doctor, but still likes to visit the Lab.
Today was a serious lesion.
There are Dangerous potions. Ones that could cause great harm, even death. We teach these potions as warnings and are never to be used.
The Rose Petals bring joy, happiness and even love.
The Lotus and Golden Berry are spiritual flowers and brings enlighten to the mind as soul.
The TigerLily brings balance to any combination.
But the Black Orchard is a dangerous flower and must at all time be handle carefully. It has been used in potions that heal, but often than not, it is harmful.
The most dangerous is three part Black Orchard. This potion takes away health and if not careful, can kill. It must be followed by one part Lotus, two parts Cactus or one part Lotus, one part Golden Berry and one part Cactus to restore the user’s health quickly.
One part Black Orchard, two part Cactus is awful, but causes no harm. Several burn include one part Rose, one part Golden Berry and one part Orchard.
“That’s nasty Grannie!” I remember little Sunray once saying when trying a potion. Two parts TigerLily and one part Cactus. “Why didn’t you tell me it would taste so nasty?”
“It was something you need to learn for yourself.” I told the girls. “You need to know how each potion works yourself before you give it to anyone else.”
I could feel my Mama’s, Grannie’s and Aunt SunRay’s smiling upon me.

Young Chief Asher married SunRise’s second daughter Asia. Asia will soon be a mother, giving me yet another great-grandchild.
My newest granddaughter by Elf and Sage is now two years old. Like Taji of old and my grandmother, she has her own rare beauty. But this little Taji is golden hair and blue eyes.
Taji walks Amoung us once again.

I am now 14 year old. I have taken the ritual Bath all teenagers in my village take and now in training under Grannie’s best student, Rosa.
Rosa is now 77 years old. She moves slowly, but is a good teacher. Rosa and Papa say I already do my Grannie proud, for I have already mastered the Transport potions, the Trace potion and even a fertile potion. That’s how I got my new little brother, Elff.
Grannie SunRay died when she was 82 years old and an Esteemed Elder. She was a Master of Science, Parenting and finally in her old age, became a Doctor. My older brother Ian was so proud of our Grannie, he too chose to be a doctor.
And my little sister Taji, and our cousin Crystal, they too wish to grow up and work in Grannie’s Alchemy. I am now 14 year old. I have taken the ritual Bath all teenagers in my village take and now in training under Grannie’s best student, Rosa.
