This may have already been discovered. When picking fruit from the orchard, as soon as the fruit has been picked it counts towards food. You dont have to wait till it gets put into the food bin!!! So, as soon as the farmer picks the food put him right back on the tree over and over and get food waaaay faster!

I had noticed as soon as a villager picks the frut from the tree, it adds to the food before its taken to the food bin, but I never thought about doing that of picking up villager back on the tree, that is one way of him/her getting a farming skill to master farmer fast and food.

While it might be a good trick for when food has fallen to below 300 and villagers are dropping work in order to "worry" about it, it doesn't seem like it's necessary to spend time getting your food into the thousands. There is only so much food on the tree. Whether they get it fast or slow doesn't make any difference. You're not going to get more than what is actually there to get.

I agree with Tuna, here - it only takes one to strip a tree completely.

Remember that the food is both deducted from the tree and added to the bin, so you don't have to worry about 'losing' food by distacting a villager.

In addition, the honey works the opposite way - food is not deducted from the hive, or added to the bin, until they make the delivery.
