after the statue is erected and the master builder picks the pearl up and "finishes" it, then the tribal chief is suppose to pick it up once it is blue. however neither the master builder or the tribal chief will do anything with the pearl now, they say they do not have the resoures or the knowledge or something like that to do anything with it. any ideas?

You need a villager with different skills for each part of the puzzle.

but the cheats say just a master villager and the tribal chief.

Maybe you shouldn't use those cheats, because they aren't right. The solutions in our Officiel VV3 Guide are accurate.
