Hey, DW, I don't see what the change is in the statue picture. Mind pointing it out?

Also, I love the golden baby blankets! Are the women also changed, or is it just the blankets? I ask because I haven't seen those particular dresses before.

The change is that there is transparency, so that you can see through them to make finding peeps and collectibles easier.

I have also got purple baby blankets. No Special Princess, the ladies dresses are in the game.

I am also doing a female chief color change.

I'm assuming that if your female chief is replaced by a male chief, you'd have to remove the mod to avoid having him flounce around in a pretty pink and purple robe?

No, the male and female outfits are in separate files. If you install only a female chief mod, the male will be unchanged.

Wow great mods I love the female chief purple & pink dress.

DW - the pics here do not do the mods justice! My golden babies are truly beautiful, as is the statue! I will have to wait for a female leader to see the purple/yellow cape. Thank you so much for making such nice things for the rest of us to enjoy!

If you're asking about the female chief dress i did in pink/purple, you'll have to wait till i remake it this weekend. I goofed and installed version .04 over it. I promise I'll get it done over the weekend!

I am a complete twit when it comes to installing things on VV. However, DW, that Goddess statue is absolutely amazing! That patina you've worked out there is gorgeous. I don't want to foul up my game, so I won't get to use it, but I just had to say BRAVA, MAESTRO!

missyz, I also loved that female chief dress. I think a dark blue/light blue or purple/light blue male chief dress would go nice with it. I'll definitely check back after weekend hoping that you finished it .

And DW your mods look fantastic also. I downloaded some of them, and they look even greater in the game.

I also want to do some of my own, but I changed my computer; I have to find my cd and reinstall the photo editor program again. Maybe in the weekend.

That mod of the statue is absolutly breath-taking. Do you take requests??? If not could you explain to me how I can get the door to look more bronze like the statue?

Yes I do

I am using a fun "trick" with mods. I made all of my backgrounds (including the overhanging tree, cliff, and houses) less colored....more gray.

It makes the mushrooms and collectibles really POP out! It also makes it easier to find the villagers when I want them.

I may post them to download, but it is a lot of files. Probably easier for people to make the change themselves. The main map backgrounds are .jpg files, so even opening them in Paint and converting them to Black & White/Greyscale would have about the same effect.

But it depends on what the request is.

Damballah - I'm a person who is also afraid of messing up my computer with one wrong button, but I have to tell you that the directions posted by Lady CFII (which I would link for you if I were not also a twit!) were so easy to follow that I was amazed. I added a bunch of mods two days ago and I feel like a pro (thanks, Lady!). My game is running fine and the purple fire is mesmerizing.
If you follow the equally easy instructions to back up your images file, you should have nothing to worry about. Good luck!

Make a copy of the non-elderly villager heads in the image file and rename the copy to the name of the file with the elderly heads.

Yes you can use Photoshop, Paint, Paint Shop Pro. Any of type of these programs will do.

If you looked over the Image files in VV3 you can see that it would be difficult to do, maybe if I had more experience in making mods maybe. So I am sorry I am unable to make this mod.

Has anyone made a gilded statue mod yet? I've been thinking of making a gilded mod for all the greenish/metal parts in the game (statue, amphitheater, etc), but I don't want to make something that's been made already.

I made a Painted Statue mod. I submitted it so it should be up eventually if it's accepted, meanwhile you could get it from my own site.

You just need a good graphic editing program. Windows Paint won't cut it.

There's Photoshop, of course, which is what I use, but few people have it because it is so expensive. However, there is a free Photoshop clone, called Gimp, at gimp.org

There are other free programs that are good, too. I heard some use the one from getpaint.net although I haven't tried it and I don't know if it supports the .png format.

Whatever program you use, you need to take the time to learn how to use it. To make mods you need to know how to use the basic tools at least, and it helps to know how to work with layers and opacity.

HOW DO YOU MODDIFY THE CLOTHING?

That is one of the hardest things to do.

I copied the image files over and load them in a paint program. I copy the images and delete the flesh out the change the colors over and then copy and pasted the back so that you can see the flesh

Apples for the trees...Hmmm, that might not be so hard. I think I'll look into doing that one too.

actually fruit on the trees is almost impossible because the images are TINY. I tried apples and they look more like cherries. I could replace a whole tree with an apple tree though, and it would permanently have big juicy apples on it.

I've made the apple mod. You're right Tuna, they do end up looking kinda like cherries. But that's what happens at a distance, right?
I'll submit it for the VV3 mod section(in the VV3 Guide section).

I have a request: Can you please make a mod of the tombstones using the flowers from the garden in VV1 and cover the tombstones with blooms so that the graveyard looks like a garden instead of a graveyard?

If you click on the garden, it will still pop up as a graveyard.
You also cannot edit the height/weigth of images too.

you can also use microsoft office picture manager (although it does not do transparency unless the picture you are changing is already transparent) and of course if you have it.
