Huh.. I after like a day or two I find people dead. I check up on them when I can, But I do have to sleep and go to school. Q1:Should I get level 2 farming or level 2 building first?
Q2:Some reason when i end up having to fish again I log off and about an hour later my people are not fishing.. And its for like other people to. (And I do check the check mark box.)

Q2: Villagers sometimes do what they want, regardless of what you want.

Q1: I normally go for building 2 first, because it can help with food. However, you need to find whatever strategy works best for you and it can depend on your population and how many people you have doing which tasks, so there's no "right" strategy.

Go to menu, options then pause. That should solve all your problems when you're not there to babysit them.

First I'd like to ask your indulgence for my English (I'm French)
I never have any more villager dead (except because of old age) because each time I quit my game, I choose one or two (better) villager with healing skill that I set. If you don't set this skill, they never heal anybody by themselves.
Never let your villagers alone without a doctor (even a trainee)!
