I have an 18 year old in my family (she will be the 2nd generation in my family) and I can't figure out how or when she gets a job, can anyone help me out please?

So I found the "upgrade me" option and sent her to boarding school...now Im worried she wont come back! How long does she stay there? Have I sent her into a black hole? =/

If i remember well you did not sent her into a black hole and she will come back if i can remember some posts waaayyyyback when vf2 was only a discussion and not a reality here in the forums.
I know its not much but i hope it helped.

Children over 18 don't live with their parents anymore, they leave the house and they won´t come back (if you sent them to boarding school they will leave sooner but again they won't come back). However you will see all your children again when it's time to start a new generation (it's when one or both of your parents died) and you will see also their jobs ages and everything so you can choose one of them to start next generation. So yes she won't come back to your house while her parents are still living but don't worry you didn't lost her forever

When your children turn 19, you'll get a pop-up saying that they've gone off to college, and the child will be removed from your household.

You don't see them again until a parent dies, at which time you get to pick which of your children will inherit the house and start the next generation.
