It's time for a trip to Australia! Treat your families today with meals from the land of kangaroos and koala bears. smile We're going "Down Under!"

All meals are available in your choice of two china patterns to coordinate with your kitchen. (Patterns are pictured in this post.)

International Meal Pack 2 (Down Under!) includes:

Aussie Lunch - Vegemite Sandwich with Lamington, Chiko Rolls with ANZAC biscuits, Sausage Sizzle with ANZAC biscuits, Meat Pies with Tomato Sauce and a Lamington

"American" Translation - The infamous vegemite sandwich (and what trip to Australia would be complete without one?) Vegemite comes from by-products of beer making and is a dark paste-like spread. (Also eaten on one slice for breakfast.) Lamingtons are cubes of sponge cake dipped into warm chocolate icing so that the cake soaks it up, then rolled in coconut. Chiko Rolls are an Aussie version of spring rolls with a thicker shell and meat inside. They are a common "take-away" (not "take-out") food. ANZAC biscuits are oatmeal and coconut cookies. A Sausage Sizzle is a barbequed sausage on a piece of light bread with cooked onions and a drizzle of barbeque or tomato sauce. Aussie meat pies are another "take-away" food, similar to our meat pies, but with a pie shape and topped with tomato sauce.

Barramundi - Grilled Barramundi Filets, Fresh Green Salad, Boiled Potatoes

"American" Translation - Barramundi is an Aussie fish, similar to a sea bass. It is cooked with the skin on. The green salad recipe I received to accompany it includes green beans, carrots and cherry tomatoes and is served without dressing.

Lamb Chops
- Pan Seared Lamb Chops with Lemon and Oregano, Roast Pumpkin, Rocket Leaf Salad

"American" Translation - Lamb Chops are the same. Aussies eat pumpkin as a vegetable, this time cut into chunks and oven-roasted. Rocket leaves are a type of salad leaf that has a pepper-like flavor.

Roo Steaks - Chargrilled Roo Steaks, Fried Egg and Chips

"American" Translation - In the past, kangaroo meat was commonly used the way we use beef, because it was much cheaper. Some tell me they still eat it regularly and some eat beef and other meats instead. However, all say that tourists from around the world ALWAYS eat one. heh Chips are french fried potatoes.

Other interesting tidbits about Aussie food:
Hold the Mayo! In Australia, you won't likely find mayonnaise or mustard on your bread for a sandwich or burger. Instead, they butter nearly anything and everything that resembles bread. So if you order a burger, be prepared to receive it on buttered bread, with grilled onions, egg, bacon and beetroot.

Salad Sandwich - We have chicken salad, egg salad, tuna salad, etc. that is prepared with mayo and served as a sandwich spread. If you order the same thing in Australia, you will get a layered sandwich (on buttered bread) containing the meat (or egg) and layers of tomato, lettuce, beetroot, cucumbers and sometimes carrots.

That's the end of our trip Down Under. I hope you have a nice time on your vacation, halidog!

As always, follow the instructions in this post to backup your original files and install the new mods.

After unzipping the pack, choose the meal (and china pattern) you want your families to enjoy today and rename it meal.png when placing it in your game's images folder.

Thanks to halidog for the request and Lewanda for providing info from her Aussie friends!
