Once again, Obi was getting bored on the island. Doing his chores, farming, and laundry. Day in, day out. Time for an adventure. Time to see where the Mosaic takes him. Time to escape the rather mundane life of the village.

So in the middle of the afternoon, while the other villagers took naps, relaxed by the ocean, or took a quick swim in the pond, Obi stole away to the mosaic. Making sure he was not being watched, he stepped onto the center yellow circle. With a deep breath, he felt himself grow lightheaded and the visions of the island slowly faded to white.

In a moment later he saw that his vision was coming back. Slowly he started to make out different shapes and noises. He was happy to have escaped the island for a spell. The one thing that did worry Obi was the mosaic always seemed to drop him off in the most precarious of places. One time he found himself on the top of the Statue of Liberty... On the outside. Another time he found himself surrounded by stone gargoyles, high up on the turrets on the outside of Notre Dame. "Please make it simple this time", he whispered to himself.

As things came into focus and he was able to make sense of the things around him, he was relieved to find he was not guarded by stone statuettes. He was higher up than ground level but not too high up. He sighed a sigh of relief.

Although it did resemble Notre Dame, it was different. More cheerful and playful. He did not seem as startled. He did wonder where he was. He looked around from atop his high perch and saw people. Hordes of people. More people in such a tiny area than he had ever seen before. Finding the access ladder he climbed down and joined the massive sea of people.

As Obi was walking along he was perplexed by th next thing he saw. It looked human but at the same time it didn't. The head was far too big for his body. His expession never changed. Just a permanent smile. He had to get a closer look.

This "person" was frightening but at the same time it wasn't threatening. This was very strange for the nieve little villager. He wanted to cry and go back home but he was too old to cry. Besides, there was nobody he knew here to hold him, to comfort him. He had to make the best of it.

As he walked along he saw many shops. He smelled food. Oh, the smell of food. Obi found himself getting very hungry now. He knew he had to find something else to take his mind off of his grumbly tummy. So as he walked on further, he saw yet another "person". Much like the other one but this one made his heart jump. It looked much like the rats that scurry the island, biting people and making them sick. But this one was different. It had that silly, permanent grin that never changed. It was wearing clothes. Whoever heard of a rodent wearing clothes. By the dress it wore and the bow on its head, Obi only assumed it was a female. A closer look made Obi aware that this "rodent" seemed to be friendly.

She seemed to be writing in a journal of some sort. A smiling rodent, who wears clothes, writes, and who is taller than he is? "What kind of weird place is this", Obi thought to himself.

Obi walked on, pondering the place the Mosaic left him, when he came upon some sort of ride. Watching it for awile he decided to give it a try. It didn't seem too bad. There were little kids on it and they were laughing. This made Obi laugh too but he wasn't sure why. So as he watched, he noticed that the way to get on this ride was to stand in a line and wait your turn. As he inched closer and closer to the ride he wondered what it was going to be like. It was a ride that you sat in a cup and twirled around in circles. He liked to twirl in circles. He and his friends would do that from time to time when they were playing.

He got on the ride with another little girl. She reminded Obi of his friend Kalea. With her cute little nose and her blonde hair. The ride started and the little girl grabbed the wheel in the middle and off they went. Round and round. Obi thought he could make it go faster so he helped. Soon the little girl, laughing so hard, sat back and let Obi take control. This was fun at first for Obi but as he kept going he realized he was getting sick. This was not as much fun as it had been in the beginning.

After the ride stopped and the little girl stopped laughing, she thanked Obi for a wonderful ride which Obi said "you're welcome" exited the ride, and staggered around like someone who had spun around in a circle too many times.

Needing a rest he saw all these people lining up along the side of the road. He could hear music coming from far up the street. After a few minutes he found himself a spot to sit down and regain his wits. Just as he sat down, the music became very loud and whirlwind of more "people" came dancing down the street. There was the one guy he met in the beginning of the day and the female rodent. There were all kinds of "people". Many different shapes and colors. Some resembled animals he had never seen before.

After the dancing "people", Obi thought he would take a different ride. Maybe one that was not so spinny.

On his way through the jumbled masses, he came across yet another "person". This one had a the typical stiff smile but before he knew it, whoosh, Obi's feet left the ground. This sent his heart beating so fast he did not know what to do.

After he squirmed, this "person" let him down and Obi ran as fast as he could to get away.

He came across a ride called "A Small World" and thought that would be interesting so he stood in line for this one.

Getting on the ride was good. It was a boat. The other boats seemed to go slow. That is what Obi wanted after such a fast, nausiating ride before.

The ride went along. He went through a tunnel. It was a bit dark and took a bit for Obi's eyes to adjust. Once inside he was greeted by little, miniature people. Everywhere. On the left, on the right, up in the air.

Obi got excited and was overwhelmed by the sights and the music he jumped ship. He didn't hear the people yelling at him as they sailed on. He didn't care. He had to see this stuff up close.

Walking around the miniature people and wading through the stream at times, he found an animal he'd never seen before but thought it was very cute. He thought maybe if he got on it, it would carry him away and he could cover more ground faster.

It didn't move. It just stood there singing "It's a Small World Afterall". After he finished looking at all the animatronics he decided to jump on the next boat and end his Small World adventure.

Little did he know that when he disembarked the boat, Disneyland Security was waiting for him. He was promptly put in the little Security Mobile and escorted off the premises.

This made Obi sad but once again, like all his other adventures, he was tired and wanted to go home anyways.
