I have been playing for 42 hours, i have 17 population, 4028 food, 40576 Tech, nature Faction and L2 on Each Tech. I have had no events. What Gives?????

have you gotten the "starter event?" they usually appear 5-15 minutes after starting a new tribe. and have you been playing for 24 hours straight? events appear at 24-hour intervals.

No - I havent gotten an event yet. I pause the game when I go to bed at night and leave it paused during the day when I am at work.

Pausing the game most of the time can prevent Island Events from appearing.

I had the same problem until I started letting my game play itself. Still don't get too many I guess I should leave it playing when I go to bed! Also a question....when an Event happens, does the clock stop until you make a decision?

The only thing that "stops the clock" is pausing the game. If you leave the game on an Event screen (or any screen other than the main screen, for that matter), the game will simply "catch up" when you go back to the main screen (much the same as it does after being off).
