What is a Mod? I hear people talking about them, but I really don't get their purpose, or simply why they are there. Also, does anyone have examples of Mods?

It is the modification of an original. So, a mod for PT would be different color pots than the original. Or a holiday version of VV. It's any variation from the game that you can add in. Maybe someone else can explain it better...

The purpose is just to keep to have fun! Also sometimes it enhances your game, for example if you've played through Plant Tycoon so many times that just by seeing the flower you already know what it will make when you pollinate it with another, by placing a mod file that changes the flower you're game changes and it becomes a surprise.
Also, modding is fun! It's really awesome that LDW lets us do it.
