I have one villager, who I am trying to get to be an elder by increasing his parenting skills. I have had him embrace with an elderly woman for a while.. and I have had him teach children every chance I can get. And still it seems like his skill bar stays about the same. Which gets more bang for my buck?

Also - how much can you train the kids by teaching them? Would it give my tribe a significant edge when they are old enough to work?

If you drag the villager repeatedly onto his lady friend, without giving them a chance to set off for the loveshack, every time they kiss you will increase his parenting skills. After some time he should make master, although your mouse may get worn out!

That said, it's more fun watching the villagers teaching the kids. I'm not sure, but I don't think the kids gain much if anaything by teaching. (Much like modern schools.) ;\)

But how much will his parenting skills increase? I have been doing that, letting them kiss, then dragging them both apart and doing it again. But when I check his status - I still get none to very little change in the skills bar. I think I've done it about 50 times so far.. and maybe half an inch of progress. \:\(

doing a constant pick up and drop on the villagers will take a solid 15 to 20 minutes and im talking 1 drop every second or 2 to make master parents from nothing. I broke my mouse doing it and im not joking lol..it was just a small laptop mouse but i clicked so hard and fast i broke the button.

I am going to keep on it. Unfortunately, my elderly woman died so.. after a while, if I keep dragging him onto one woman it says "She's nursing a baby!"

ah...yea no good that way. And if you run out of housing and dont have elderly women you cant do it either youll get a out of housing pop up for every single time you drop a person on the woman lol.

Even if the bar is not moving up, for every successful attempt, you villager is gaining skill. Very, very, very slowly towards the end though.

It did finally work. I started placing the villager (male) slightly above the elderly female, so that it was easy to grab and drop him again. It does get very, very slow at the end.
