How in the world do you get a healer to heal. Everytime I get try I get the message they are the same sex or that my vilager has improved in breading!

The villager you are trying to heal must have a status of "Sick". If they're simply elderly or weakened (or healthy), then trying to heal them will have the results you mention.

If they're weak, you might try giving them some less onerous duties like researching and see if thet helps them get stronger. Having enough food available also makes a difference. If they're elderly, unfortunately, there's not a lot you can do for them except buy more medecine tech which increases longevity.

Speaking of longevity have you noticed the ladies never go through menopause? It's not the hot flashes I am speaking of (although that would be cute on them!) I am talking about the fact that they seem to be able to breed until the day they die! I had one villager (68 years old, I believe) that died while nursing. The baby died too. (
