Loc: Somewhere in time....
I would like to see the builders be able to fix more than the 3 huts and the hospital. How come the "flowered hut" never is in need of repair? Or the sewing hut?
My concern about animals is this...most wild animals are not easy to domesticate, nor is their meat good for you. Perhaps the Nene, the Hawaiian goose, might be a good thing for additional food, but everyone is so busy, when in the world would they get time to tame and raise indigenous animals for pets? (Take it from me...I own 4 capuchin monkeys, and they are not all that easy to train. It takes a great deal of time and effort, not to mention the havoc they can cause if you take your eyes off them. They are not good pets around small children. Unless you remove all their teeth, they WILL bite, if grabbed or dragged on.)
Why not allow the females over 60 to care for the children and babies while the mothers pursue their interests?
Oddly enough, the people in my villages seem to limit themselves to one person for mating, although I've had a difficulty with a very young woman who is an Elder at 28 trying snatch away mating males...She IS a Master Parent...don't ask...it's the gong's fault!
Perhaps, also, there could be a Master of each discipline to "train" the ones who don't do anything. (I have a 44-year-old woman, who likes resting, and is just an Adept Farmer.)
Could there be an "Education Tech" that would grant wisdom through training? It would give children a head start.
