I have only rang the gong about 4 times. The first two times I did it within a day of each other. The first one was good luck and the second one was bad luck. Since then I only ring it about once every week or two and so far it is only good luck. I also only use one of my oldest villagers that are about ready to die so if it kills them, oh well.
