The game is designed to include the trip into the hut, but the "outcome" is already determined at the moment of kissing. If the villagers are not interrupted the baby will appear after emerging from the hut. Many, if not most, people don't want to wait the extra time, so they don't allow the trip in order to make things happen faster.
