I'm sorry if this has been explained somewhere else... I'm wondering about some of the stats, if having a higher number is good, or if the preference is to have a lower number.

Obviously things like money earned, new species discovered, magic plants found, etc, the higher you get, the better.

But what about the following:

Plants Cured - in my mind, the lower the number, the better - as long as the alternative isn't for them to die. If you don't have to cure plants, it means you're growing the right plants in the right soil and looking after them. To me, having to cure a plant is a black spot on my record. But seeing as I've cured 30 and my internet stats are 931, I'm guessing the MORE plants you cure, the better.

Liters Water Used - does your internet stat get closer to 1 as you use MORE water, or less? If using more water is considered "better" then that's encouraging people to be wasteful (not to mention most plants don't like too much water so it's not good for them anyway). Where I am in Australia, we're having the worst drought on record and we're not allowed to water our plants at all! To me, finding ways to REDUCE water usage is something to be rewarded.

Branches Pruned - same as for plants cured. The fewer branches pruned, the better - means you're growing the right plants, right soil, right amount of water. If you NEED to prune branches and you don't, it'll reflect in other stats (amount earned, plants sold).

Net Swung and Bugs Caught - obviously bugs caught you want a high number. But a LOW number for net swung could be better than a higher number, as long as the two figures are used together. For example, if I have swung the net 100 times and collected 50 bugs, that's a 50% success rate, which is much better than someone who's swung the net 400 times and caught 100 bugs - even though both their figures are quite a lot higher than mine, they only have a 25% success rate, which means I'm much more accurate when using the net.

I'd like to know what IS the case with the above figures, and perhaps encourage discussion on which way is preferred.

I've thought about those things myself - that perhaps the stats were a little skewed... maybe next time as in PT2? For now, some folks seem to be having a great time clicking away to get their net swings up there rather than being careful and sneaking and increasing the percentage, but they're having fun and everyone to their own game! I would like to see it changed around next time, though.

I guess the best way to calculate would be as a percentage #swings that catch a _bug_/total swings. That way, people don't start out at number 1 and just stay there by not going after any bugs.
