So I'm early in my third try at this, sneaking a peek at my villagers while waiting for friends. The friends showed up, and I hurriedly shut off my Palm. Later, wanting to check my schedule, I pushed the Date Book button, and the game flashed briefly on the screen, with an Event. I just had time to read "In the course of..." and then the screen switched to my boring old calendar.

Well, everyone is OK, and the Food and Tech havn't changed, but my stats show 2 Events (I already had the "Yellow Liquid" Event). Anybody have any idea what I missed? This could make me nuts...

One of your villagers probably found a bush with some berries on it. There are a few scenarios as to what may have happened to them, but I am not sure what would default in your situation.

The message you saw could be from one of a number of Island Events that begin, "In the course of..." They involve a farmer that encounters something in the course of daily foraging, and usually offer a choice to make. Since you didn't find anything different or wrong (sick or injured villagers, population changes, etc.), you don't have to worry about adverse effects, even though you didn't get a chance to respond to the event.

Thanks! I just wanted a general idea, nothing specific, since I understand that the choices and consequences vary anyway. Besides, I've had several others, including the whale. Fortunately, my village had lots of food at the time...
