I AM playing on easy mode.
I'm guessing I'm to used to having easier games.Fish tycoon had me pulling my hair out because I couldn't tell WTD(What the duck) I was doing, but I soon found out the secrets to being rich.Plant tycoon would make me a bald lion.Very detailed tutorial, but I still had to find out quite a few things on my own.
The biggest problem is you can't crossbreed without trial-and-error.You try one combo doesn't work, pollinate the plant.Try another,it doesn't work.
What we need is a guide to what plants crossbreed better in Soil A.I have never really needed a guide so detailed for any game except this.

You may want to check out my Seed Catalog in the Guides section...

Pages 2-4 contain pictures of the seeds, flower and foliage names that may be too many spoilers for some, but the first page contains an introduction to the Tier system and some basic gardening facts. It is still spoiler information (in that some players may want to figure it out on their own), but it is useful to avoid bald-headed LDW fans. ;\)

I want to clarify that I didn't agree with the original poster either. My suggestions were not to make the game easier, just a bit less tedious.

Seed guide didn't help.
It says some can grow. Not all.
The thing is outright confusing anyway...

Sorry about that... When it syas "with TLC some can survive for some breeding programs" it means just that. Don't plant the seed and go away, expecting to find a healthy plant. Instead, watch it carefully, prune dead leaves when seen (and the health bar has room to improve) and don't prune any healthy leaves (with green shears.) Some of these plants will survive to maturity in order to pollinate or be pollinated. Some will klive long enough to produce a seed or two, or quickly move them to the nursery and you may be able to sell them. (But more often than not, I was happy to find the name of the plant (and try the seed again later) and use it to pollinate another plant or maybe get a new seed. But I needed to be ready the moment it matured for any potential breeding before I had enough Isola Bucks to upgrade my soil.

I've had the game for 4 days.. and yes lost sleep becuz I was too busy playing. I've also had to restart about 6 times because of unintentially killing the plants while pruning. I would definitely like to see the next version have a zoom option.
I've actually gotten a headache or two from squinting and putting my nose to the monitor.
How about not having so many duplicate seeds for the first planting? Ive had to restart because Ive had more than one game where I ended up with only 6 or less plants and all the rest duplicates. To be honest its darned frustrating and its making me loose interest.
I also agree that a second greenhouse would be a good thing...one for breeding.. one for pollinating.. and then the nursery. Also can we have the plants we move to the nursery stay in the nursery? I think I was spoiled by Fish Tycoon in that regard.

Personally, I love Plant Tycoon! It's an excellent game, and I think the high prices of certain items and the added difficulty of Tier 4 plants makes the game more interesting. If we wanted an easy game, we would have downloaded something with "Dora the Explorer" or "Sesame Street" in the title. \:\)

The only suggestion I can thing of that might improve the game is some kind of mini-game(s) to play while your plants grow if you'd prefer not to leave them. You could have a little status window in a corner when playing the mini game that showed circles for your plants which turned colors as they grow, end up unhealthy, become infested, or produce seeds. That way you could monitor your plants without just sitting with a net in hand waiting for a _bug_ (though _bug_ catching is fun, too). Perhaps sorting seeds for the supply shop, or playing games like plant-themed Solitare. Something that gives you a few extra bucks or perhaps even a chance at a random seed based on the amazingness of your score at the mini-game(s).

The only other thing I can think of is a seed tray that allows you to store identicle seeds (meaning seeds that have the same species of parent plants) together. That would make organizing the seed tray a lot easier. And I agree that having some kind of geneology chart in game for the plants would make things easier, though a notepad with the game in windowed mode works, too.

Thanks for making such a fun game LDW! \:\)

I don't really see the point in giving suggestions for PT2. There isn't even a FT2 so why would there be a PT2. However, I can see these as suggestions for any new breeding game they may be contemplating.
I don't agree with most of the suggestions anyway.
*Pruning is something you get better at with experience. *Lowering prices would just make the game too easy.
*I don't care if 'my person' is a boy or a girl...he doesn't do anything but sit there.
*Having a hired hand sell while you're breeding...again...makes game too easy.
I would like to be able to rearrange the tools.
I would like an extra seed box. If there are over 500 species, 3 boxes don't cut it. lol

I haven't seen one black person in my peeps. I'm sure I remember a person of color in VV1. My clientele is all white. I'm not even a black person, but this annoys me.

I'm fine with the pricing, after some trial and error, you can quickly reach plants with tier 1 soil that will sell for $140 each. At that point money really isn't an issue any longer.

My annoyance is another person's treasure.... breeding management. I don't want to have to resort to Excel or external notes to figure out what I've done and where to go, I'd like some sort of management tool within the game. If you don't like that, you don't have to use it, but I'd prefer not to have to take so many notes. The game is still fun just trying out and finding new breeds without having to take notes as well.

hi everyone. i am not really new just havent been here for a while...anyway i agree w/ the other suggestions. i just started playing this game and i love it. i also have fish tycoon and i love that too. i even got my son into it. but there should be another nursery, and we should be able to decorate it anyway we want. also the upgrade prices are too high how about gradually raising them not totally breaking ya pockets...also i think that we need more pots. it woulb be easier if we could start from scratch, i mean building the nursery from the bottom up just like in fish tycoon.....oxox
