I made this to make the clicking and dragging less painful. (especially the from box to quickslot to pot...I'm lazy)

Plant Tycoon Helper 1.0

This is NOT a cheat. It will not get your more $, or anything like that. It's just a mouse script to automatically prep and water all 15 pots on CTRL-A, and there's also a hotkey CTRL-Z for planting first 15 seeds in the box. There's also keys set up for each pot, all the tools, each row and so on.

I made this for myself, but figures that someone else could make sure of it as well.

_bug_:

Not only downloading this to my comp and activating it, will also effect your whole computer (or at least it has to mine). To turn this off, just right click on the "H" icon on your quick launch bar. \:\)

Oh. that's in the readme.

There is a hotkey to turn it off during game (CTRL-H for help)

That's cause i have no idea how to program contextual hotkeys. \:\)

Great little tool, thanks for sharing. I'm not sure if you noticed but the different levels of watering cans seem to water at different rates. So the script hits an ideal level with the green can, an ok level with the blue can, and too much water with the top level can.

Again, it's a great little tool. Thanks for saving me from the monotony of holding down the watering button!

Thanks so much for this! I suffer with RSI and I've found the potting-and-watering is a real pain in the wrist! My tendons thank you \:D

Thanks for this. I made a couple of boo-boos by not reading the text file though! Clicked F and used up my last supply of quick grow vapor.
The watering & soil toil is great.

Thank you for making such a great tool! I'd love to enjoy it, but for some reason, when I'm in either windowed mode or fullscreen, the 'hotspots' where the script picks up soil, water, etc, seem to be a little off. The hand never picks either of them up.

Any ideas how I could solve this? I've done everything from change my screen resolution to moving the window around.

I've been using the tool a few days now and I'm loving it. Great invention, congrats.

Only problem is when I'm switching between my game and work, I often forget to suspend the hot keys. Lots of fun.

I looked through the read me and couldn't find this. I love the Hotkey for fast harvest but even more annoying to me is trashing seeds from the plants. Is there a hotkey for that?

Trash keys for plants. Hmmm. didn't think of that. I'll see if I can add it today.

celticlucas/ I'm not sure why - it's pretty strict on following the window around. how far are they off? (by how many pixels in which direction?)

[edit]
I've updated the program and it now has a hotkey for trashing, and it works the same way as harvesting. Click and use the key. It's J.

BTW, to turn off the hotkeys quickly, just press CTRL-K.

I'll try the new download. I couldn't get the harvest to work on the original, it would click near the seed but miss it too.

The plant seed hotkey - that was a little freaky! It went fast so I couldn't see but I ended up with 4 pots filled & the rest empty so not sure what happened.

Well worth it for the watering though & for using the keyboard to select plants.

ooo. I think I know what the problem is. I'm fixing it right now!

\:\)

All the seed box variables were off by 20 pixels. :p Also, if I "fix" it for full screen, it will not work in windowed.

BTW, the money freeze cheat will ONLY WORK while PT is running in a window. "Alt-tabbing" to a full-screen game will not work.

YOU ROCK!!!

Thank you so much for adding the trash hotkey. I can feel my sanity returning already.

I've just updated it AGAIN. \:\)

I went through and "fixed" the CTRL-Z script. So now planting the first 15 seeds into the 15 boxes should totally work. Just hit CTRL-Z and make sure your pots were prepped by CTRL-A.

SaxyT/ You're welcome. \:D

I'd estimate it to be about 10-20 pixels above where it needs to be, just enough for the game not to register that it's clicking on that particular item.

celticlucas/ let me know if the new version 1.02 still doesn't work for you. I've moved down some of the keys. (I think now it'll only work in fullscreen)

Thank you so much for this. I have an over-extended tendon in my right wrist, so it is hard for me to do the click and drag thing so much, especially with the brace on. Thank you so much!

i was afraid i wouldn't like the program (i'm weird) but i tried it, and now i love it!

i like being able to very easily fill all the pots with soil and water, although i still prefer planting the seeds myself

I like planting the seeds myself when I'm doing the cross breeding thing - 5 on top, 5 on the bottom, top to self-pollinate, bottom to cross pollinate, middle for cross-bred between the two. (I'm very OCD that way..)

The CTRL-Z script is good for "mining" for big chunks of cash when you want to plant multiples of an expensive plant. It's pretty neat - first 5 seeds in the box goes to the top row, then 6-10 goes into second row, 11-15 goes in the third row. It does go through it pretty darn quickly so it can be pretty freaky to watch. *grin*

i have my own system for keeping up with cross breeding and keeping track of the seeds and i found out the hard way that its the only way i can keep track of it, lol

i tried to make a change and i ended up so confused that i had to scratch that batch and start all over (i didn't throw away the plants or anything crazy like that-- i just couldn't figure out what each plants parents were, so for research purposes, it was a bust

i never use anyone elses breeding charts either, i'm far too stubborn (and OCD) for that! i have to create my own

i think when i do just want cash i will try the CTRL-Z thing again tho, because i won't care what gets planted where then!

Sally, you are my new hero. Even if I got confused and accidentally trashed the seeds I was trying to save for breeding. Oh well, I'll just breed another batch, I just set myself back about 2 hours. But it is soooo nice to be able to easily trash seeds. The planting is nice too, but I really like the seeds, and the setting up the pots. I'm noticing the same issue with overwatering with the better water, but I've found if I sit there and watch it, I can manually move the mouse away when the plant is near full, and it's still way better than doing each darn pot manually.

Thank you so much for this.

Laura

I'm getting a "file does not exist" error when I try and download this. There's also a message from someone else having the same problem.

Can you please check that the file exists and the link is correct, or advise if there's an alternative location? thanks.

The link is correct, and the file exists. I just downloaded it with no problems. Perhaps your computer's security software is interfering with your access?

nope. Can't get it. No matter whether I click on the main link, right click and Save Target, or click on the little Download link further down. Comes up as if it's going to save/open it, spends a bit of time Resolving, then tells me File Not Found.

However, I got hubby to try it on his PC (Firefox) and he managed to get it, so he emailed it to me.

I often get broken links when others say it works for them - maybe it's a Vista thing, or something with my version of IE (7)...

thanks though. Guess I'm just going crazy.

I've sometimes had trouble accessing or downloading (very clean) stuff with my Windows Firewall enabled. When I turn it off I can do what I need with no problem. There are other firewalls on our household network, but I still run Windows Firewall most of the time. That drives my teenage grandsons nuts. <g>
