If you have Plant Tycoon windowed, its possible to resize it (doesn't keep dimension, so you have to do it by eye), which means you can have the benefit of it windowed, but have it larger than it would normally be (on a 1280x1024 screen it's about alright Windowed, but its harder and harder to see the dead leaves etc (on ferns for example).

So far so good, except... when it's resized, it loses track of the hotspots for the plant-pots, screen buttons etc. The Resizing ability is a godsend potentially, but could it please a) keep screen ratio/dimension, and b) adjust the mouse-click hotspots accordingly?

Unfortunately, Windows does sometimes (but not always) allow you to resize Plant Tycoon's window. However, since the game is designed for a fixed screen size, making the window larger (or smaller) will throw off the game's calibration and produce the problem that you saw. This is not something that is easily fixed, and we recommend that you don't resize the window. The only way to easily restore correct screen calibration is to close the game (using the 'X' in the upper right corner) and launch it again.

Discovered that solution. But it crossed my mind that since the screen image (and animations etc) wee all resizing appropriately... you are then using Direct3D as a 2D texture window/viewport to render the game/sim? Shouldn't it be possible to read the resizing, and adjust the hotspots/dimensions accordingly?

Theoretically, it's always possible to do just about anything that can be programmed; however, such things are not easily done if the game's framework wasn't originally designed that way. I believe it would require a non-trivial rework of the game's framework to pull that off - something that Arthur might not be willing to do. We are a very small game company, and we have to use our time wisely, choosing only the most important things to work on! Taking the time to redesign the framework would delay everything else! \:\)

No problem.

Given the choice between the two, i'd far rather you kept producing the wonderful games/sims you are making \:\)
