Questions about sunshine and sounds

Quick question, I have played a few rounds of plants, and I'm still figuring things out. GREAT GAME by the way. I think there is something to the rays of sunshine coming down on certain plants in the main greenhouse. Any ideas what this could be about?
And then there are the same sound effects as in the VV games, exactly the same. I can't figure out what they indicate is going on. They sound like windchimes. One is tinkly/metally and one is more woody sounding. That may be just my opinion, but it's the best description I can give.
No magic plants so far, I'm trying to get some money saved up to start experimenting with breeds of plants.

Yes, they are both embellishments to the game. The rays of sunshine are very realistic; you can even see dust motes floating in them. The wind chimes, as in VV, are just to add atmosphere.

However, for people who have their sounds on, {i}sometimes{/i} you can start to hear the insects as the crawl or fly around the greenhouse.

<SPOILERS?>
Thanks so much for the input. My game went south so I started over a couple times since I weighed in. I still think there may be something to the sunlight streaming in from the left on some of the second and third row plants. My thought was that if a plant was pollinating, sitting it in the sun would "bless" it with an extra seed or something. I haven't noticed any clear patterns or tried to prove this by paying that close of attention. But it does seem like a nice idea and one time a pollinated plant gave a fifth seed for no apparent reason.
When I started over, I got a magic plant right out of the chute. I self pollinated all the ordinary plants, saved one seed of each, and have them in storage, then sold all those plants. Then I started self pollinating the magic seeds and getting whole beds of it to self pollinate and sell, and selling it for 50 bucks a pop. I haven't tried to go higher but they are selling well at that price. My strategy before getting into any cross-pollinations is to keep working with the magic plant until I have enough to completely upgrade the nursery and all my soils and waters and shears. Then I will start looking into finding all the other magic plants. It does seem to be a good idea, don't know if it matters, to cross pollinate same species of that first magic plant so the plant stays healthy through different generations.

i got a magic fish in my first batch of eggs in FT several times! getting a magic plant early in the game isn't a bad thing! i imagine those other 5 may be quite elusive!

You can easily get the first Magic Plant from seeds. That's no different from Fish Tycoon, where the first Magic Fish was readily available from eggs.

Well, I'm not sure what the ray of sunshine is there for other than esthetics, but I've sure found a use for it! I try to wait until it's there to do my pruning - little hidden brown spots show up much better in the sunlight. I just swap plants back and forth in the sun until they're all pruned!
Don't know if it'll be useful to anyone else, but it sure helps these old eyes! lol

If you want to save money and not spend it on vitamins, grow seeds that look like the common seeds in the supplies section. They will be more likely to grow in level 1 soil. The more gnarled and bumpy the seed, the more challenging growing them will become. You should be able to save enough money by growing the common seeds. Patience is a great virtue in this game.

Or try not to cross-breed until you have better soil. When you start a new game just self-pollinate the most expensive plants and keep breeding/selling them until you can afford better soil upgrades.
