I woke up yesterday morning and found that 4 of my 11 villigers had died from some strange decease. Two others were nearly dead with sickness and 1 was severely weakened (my last farmer). My last four villagers are children and basically useless.

Ironically after everyone was ALREADY DEAD! I found an object that allowed one of my villagers to max out in thier healing stat.

Also, to make things worse I also had a typhoon wipe out all my food. This is really bad since since 3 of the 4 DEAD were farmers.

I was really good to since all my techs were at level 2 except spirituality which was level three and the villigers stats were maxed out for the job they were assigned.

I had the misery of watching the rest of my villager starve to death since my one and only farmer (too elderly and weakened to move) couldn't move fast enough to produce any food. I also put my other two villigers on producing food but all they did was fail anytime they tried to do anything.

That's an unfortunate combination of events. Fortunately, it doesn't happen too often that you get such a string of bad luck. There are many good events that can give you a real boost in the game. Sometimes it takes more than one try to find the right strategy for success in Village Sim (or any game, for that matter).

I hope you'll start the game over and try again. There are a lot of good tips and pointers on the forum from people who have found strategies that work well. There are also a lot of people here on the forum who will help you with specific questions.

I am finally back and the my village has much improved. My zire71 still has problems with the game but it seems to be fine on my 72.

The 71 and the Tung E are the two devices that are having troubles. We just picked up a Tung E to test on here in the office and probably whatever bug is causing instability on that is causing it on both.

I have a Zire 71 also. I noticed if I try to go to the main screen while clicked on a villager it locks up and reboots. (I stopped doing that). I now exit the game frequently to save it if it is going good as the last crash wiped out everyone in the new village I had started.

I have a Zire 71, and while I had a few odd bugs early on, the only time I noticed freezing and spontaneous resets was when I had Village Sim Toolkit and Village Sim Editor (Johnathan Wu) installed. I found these apps intriguing, but decided I just wanted to play the game, so I removed them, making sure to root out any orphan files.

Since then, no unusual problems. I did run afoul of the "don't touch a villager during burial" bug, but other than that, I have played two complete games with no problems. I do try to remember to exit to the App screen before shutting down, but even when I forget and turn off/time out the Palm with VS running, it doesn't cause a problem.
This is a long shot, and assumes that others with this problem have VSEdit or VSToolkit installed, but it may be that THESE are the apps that have issues with Zire 71 or Tungsten T2.

I had many crashes and freezes (some that required a memory-erasing hard reset) with my Tungsten T2 and VS 1.0, and never installed the editor or toolkit. I'm confident Arthur will have them all fixed in the updated version.
