Game freeze

I've ben playing VS for about a week on my Palm Zire 71 without any problems until now. After clearing the stream, killing off about 4 villagers etc, I decided to start again, as there was only one old guy left, and some very young(meaning useless!) kids. But, after giving the new Villagers jobs, the game froze, and the Palm did a soft restart. I thought maybe it was a memory problem, so I threw out some boring games. But it made no difference. After restarting, I was back in the same game, except I think the dead ones had come back to life, and the kids were older! This happened about 4 times. Someone was determined that I finish the game I'm on! (g) Should I try reinstalling the game do you think? I've read the other 'freeze' posts. Thanks

The development team is working on fixes for this type of problem. How long had your game been running continuously before you had the freeze? I suspect it was quite awhile. The game is only saved when you exit the game to the launcher or another application. It is not saved when a reset occurs. If your Palm reset every time you had the freeze, Village Sim would load your last savegame (from whenever you last exited the game normally) when you started it back up again after the reset. Any event that had occurred between the time of the last save and the freeze would be 'lost' (things like villagers dying, babies born, tech advances, puzzles solved, etc.), since those events were not saved.
It sounds like your savegame file might be corrupted, though. If you were going to start over, anyway, I'd uninstall the game and reinstall it.

It only happened when I started the new game, after about 5 minutes. Also, I noticed that in the 'new' game, one of the villagers had an echo following her, in pixels. I hadn't been running the game continously for long, just that I was at a point in the old game where i felt I couldn't get any further. As it turns out, i was wrong! Should I install the new VS fix file read about in another forum? It sounds like my problem.

That was going to be my next suggestion - to try the fix version that Arthur put up. The "echo" that you described is a known bug that is being worked on. If you still have problems after trying the fix, please post back here.

Thanks. One more tiny question. Should I uninstall previous version first, then install fixed version? Can't wait to get started again. By the way, how does it look on a Zodiac? I'm thinking of getting one, just so i can see better!
