Does anyone happen to know how many successful attempts at a task will make a master status?

Like when it says 'villager improved at' whatever, how many times must they improve before they master the task?

Well... Noone's really figured that out yet, I think... But it's most likely well over 100.

it would probably be diffrent with each villager too. because some take to things quicker then others and some like learning or fish or turnips while others dislike work or learning.
maybe ladyc or arthur would know ????

Many of the "secrets" can be discovered by observant play.

Ah ha....okay, so I have to begin counting huh?

1...2...3...4....I think I'm gonna be awhile ;\)

That last quater of an inch on the skills bar just seems to take forever...or maybe it just seems that way because of anticipation.

I does take longer to get from adept to master. Just like in real life, when you first start a new skill, you learn by leaps and bounds (it can take only a handful of tries to make trainee, for example). After you've been doing a job for a long time, you don't gain skill as quickly.

If you watch a Sesame Street episode featuring The Count while you do that, you'll have help!

Well, I feel like the old commercial were the owl is asked how many licks it takes to get to the center of a tootsie roll tootsie pop...lol...1,2,3, crunch...3!

I lost patience and will have to settle with 'alot' for the answer for now. \:\)

Wow, I don't think I would have the patience, either, to count how many time it takes a villager to be a master. And the answer may not be the same for all because of the likes and dislikes. And, to count exactly how many times it takes a villager to be a master, you would have to pause the game any time you go away from the game, in case the villager does it without you knowing. And that would really slow me down, as I like a fast-paced game (but not too fast).

The only way I could see possibly counting would be with parenting. It would be a guestimate probably because of the various factors. But...again, it would require more patience than I presently have. When I 'encourage' parenting to master status I am in a hurry about it.
