That is a filed, but they will not grow crops. If the status windows say, "trying to water field", drag them to do something more productive. Once you find another source of water somewhere, then let them water. It will say Water filed. OK

What will that field grow if they don't grow crops? And why would villager water it if it doesn't grow crops?

That is a special area that you will figure out later.... however, warren is right, there is only one field that produces food.

As Warren said until they find the other water source keep them off water the dead flower field because it just wastes their time. Once it says they're actually WATERING, not just trying, the field you'll see some cool stuff after a bit of TLC on the field. It's worth the wait in my opinion One of the little LDW puzzles/prizes in the game!

Kelly, there are lost of things that your villagers do that seem to be a waste of time, but if you try to remember them for later, then you may start unlocking more secrets. I remember seeing someone say during testing that letting the villagers go off and have a break from their tasks, could be a good thing.....lets them have a bit of a recharge.

I haven't actually worked out if this is true, but I like the sound of it, so I let them have a bit of fun as well occaisonally
