A bug? - a clock problem

I tried this for the first time and was enjoying it so much I wanted it to go quicker! I had 12 adult villagers and 3 children, and was waiting getting the hut built so couldn't have any more babies yet - I wanted to go to bed and set some babies growing! As I had seen on here that you could change the clock on the palm by an hour or two to advance the game, I did this a couple of times and it seemed fine. I had done this before with fish tycoon, and it worked fine. Unfortunately I then did it again and it all went horribly wrong!
I had advanced the clock by 2 hours (from 11pm to 1 am), and nothing much seemed to have changed - but when I put the clock back to the normal time a couple of minutes later, all but 6 of my villagers had died - but the food had gone up a lot and so had the tech points!
Its like it had advanced way too far, although in fact the clock had gone back 2 hours! It was going backwards and forwards past midnight, so I wondered if it maybe it thought it was a whole day gone by, instead of going back a couple of hours. The clock was definitely right on the palm though, and so was the date.
Anyway, just thought I would let you know, in case any one else had the same problem!

Yes, I'm sure - I didn't actually change the time by entering numbers, I just used the up and down arrow to roll the clock forward and back, and I was fairly sure it changed the date by itself. If it didn't change the date though, and thinking it was going from 2300 to 0100 in the same day, then wouldn't it just be going back to earlier in the same day, then back to the correct time, so shouldn't cause a problem? More confused now - I'll have a look later and see what it does if it does change the date or not - with the game pused of course to prevent disater!

In general the game should forgive setting the clock backwards. This has been confirmed in testing, but anything is possible.
In original versions of our earlier games, setting the clock backward would kill everything as you have described.

Ah well, i suppose it will teach me not to try and hurry it along then.
Just have to go with the flow and enjoy it!
