New game suggestion

I've got an idea for a new game.
There's a zoo a couple of miles from where I live. It has a thriving and very successful breeding programme for endangered species and one of its most successful projects involved the release of several captive bred endangered Przwalski's horses back into their native habitat a few years ago. It's just built several nice new enclosures to replace some which were ageing or too small.
Since many of the tasks in Virtual Villagers and LDW's other games, involve finding various items/breeding creatures, how about a game which involves hunting endangered species, bringing them back to "your" zoo, breeding them and releasing them back into the wild again?
There would be lots of things to watch out for such as food, conditions (hot/cold/wet/dry), visitors, education, animal exchanges with other zoos, breeding, release, expeditions to collect the creatures in the first place, building enclosures, paying keepers ...
Just a thought.

Its similar to Zoo Tycoon, but my impression is it would be more focused on the breeding of animals rather than the running of a business. Zoo Tycoon (at least the one I played) was more of a financial strategy, marketing and money were the top concerns. But this sounds more like a *breeding* game, and Id love to see something like that. Finding and taming endangered animals, helping to restore their species to a healthy and thriving population? Possibly even genetics and the like?? Sounds incredibly fun to me!

Are there games already like these?:
A carnival or fair theme - there could be lots of "booths","rides" and "carnival food" section games?
Some sort of building / landscaping game theme?: It could have residential, business and recreational building sections.
I like both those suggestions. The second one's been done - but in a different way from LDS's style - in the Sim games (Sim City, The Sims, etc.)

I think there should be a game where you pick a job and go to work, get promotions, and lots of money then go home and spend your $$ for example, if you are a chef in the game you just make the orders.
is that a bad idea?

Sim City for buildings and landscaping and Roller Coaster Tycoon/zoo tycoon/prison tycoon/and about any other idea you can think of has a tycoon for it somewhere

Yes, it's called rollercoaster tycoon 3. This one has the most gameplay abilities as far as carnival type rides. You also get the ability to create and ride rollercoasters.

I agree with the bird idea. There's definately alot in that idea that would parallel Fish Tycoon, with the cross breeding and selling and diseases and colors. Marcey

ok to throw a different slant on things ... how about a game based around horses other that just riding or jumping based games ... while those are entertaining a horse 'tycoon' type game could be rather fun as well

carnival/fair type game with booths, rides, ect...would be Theme Park Tycoon...or Roller Coaster Tycoon. both of which need booths, bathrooms, food, to keep your BEFORE opening to the public...sometimes the speed is too much for the size of the coaster and you kill customers....not good for business.

waaaaaaaaaay back in the dark ages of Dos games....there were a set of games come out called...Gobliins. in the first one you had 3 lil guys who each could do specific things, one punched or kicked..one did magic..one picked up stuff. in order to advance from one area to the next, these lil guys had to figure out what had to be done and in what sequence they had to be done. if you did the wrong thing, something would happen to scare the bejeepers outta the lil guys and they lost a bit of health. same thing if you did things in the wrong sequence. They were hillarious games..(ok so im twisted and would sometimes scare them just for the fun of watching them jump and scream). Sadly when windows crashed through the o/s markets, these games were lost as they were never recoded to work in windows. If they could be found, and reworked with the wonderful LDW styles, they would be awesome games.

I am a HUGE tycoon/sim style game fan. I love the games styled lik villagers, where you build your town/community/world peacefully. While there are a gabillion of this type of game out there, Im lazy in that I hate to have to fight some other kingdom/castle or whatever to keep what I built and land I builtup. Id like to see a game where you start with nothing, build the "town, village, island, ect" into a productive and thriving community with enough population to run it, then move on to a different area to do the same. In a sense, create a simple world out of nothing without having any one other than ma natures unpredictability to hamper your efforts. She can cause enough stress with hurricanes, tornados, _bug_ infestings, snow and ice storms (depending on your location) You could be working towards being a major land tycoon that has the responsibility to go to each area and create and populate it. There wouldnt even have to be anything extremely fancy, like airports..tourist areas....major modern living ideas....Just good ole simple existance from nothing...but with full sequence of whats needed...*ie..you can build a fishermans hut...but you need bait to fish..so someone has to collect the worms/bait and sell to fisherman before he can fish. you can build a food market, but you need someone to have grown the veggies/fruit first or your food market will have nothing to sell. As the land developer, you start out with xx$ to begin building. Each business/job you create earns you money to continue building and when you have fully developed the first area and have made a set required amount needed to move on, then you can develop a secoond area and so on. Each area can be a little bit different in what businesses are allowed or needed..meaning if there is no water, you wont have fishermen but you might have farms but need peeps to go out and gather whatever available seeds are around in order to be able to plant anything. Anyway you get the idea, every business needed to provide something has to also have been provided with the product in the first place. Now that Ive reread this, it sounds like it may be a huge complicated game. Geez life is complicated.

Creating a newspaper/magazine business, getting the stories, becoming the top in ratings.....that would be Tabloid Tycoon. I never played it, reviews on it were not so good, and it was never one of the top tycoon games, but its out there. You know when we start going through ideas like this, its surprising just how many tycoon games there really are. I never really gave it any thought till reading this thread.

I think it would be really fun to do a type of Virtual Villagers set on another planet in space. Like the people have to escape earth because of some catastrophe, so they just shoot off into space, and this is where the few that survived landed. It could have some interaction with intelligent life on the planet, terraforming perhaps, finding a source of water, etc.
The breeding games (Fish Tycoon, Plant Tycoon) could also be branched into other areas, like "Canine Tycoon" (which could be lots of fun, because the parentage could be set up so that you could have some idea of the traits being given to the puppies, just like with real dog breeding) or any other animal that has lots of variants. You could actually do something like "Petri Tycoon" where you breed and combine various bacteria for beneficial (or not so) activity.

Yeah, there is already one like that. It's called Roller Coaster Tycoon - starts small like a fair and then builds... and builds... and builds. I have it.

I also have an idea. I just thought of it as I was talking in the chat box over ---------> there.
Ok..I now there are over 10 if not more, tycoon games out there. I was talking to them when a light bulb went off. How bout..theme park tycoon. Yes there are many I now. But heres the difference. You now you guys have villagers. Well blend villagers with theme park. They have to clear the land, and build it. They have to harvest all the wood. They kill for the food. They do it ALL. You have goals to get to also.

I have an Idea for a game. How about a game where you own a dog pound. You can rescue dogs and bring them back to your pound. You can have fun changing their prices to what your customers like.

i think that they should have animals on the farm for VV3. Aslo, they can breed the animals and they can have chickens, cow, pigs (like in the first one, the cave drawing with the pigs) and things like that. Also also, have the chickens lay eggs, and the children as well as the adults can pick them up.

I like the Dragon Tycoon idea. I was thinking about something where you breed Dinosaurs. I like the horse idea, but it'd be neat if there was one where you could make Mythological creatures.... such as dragons, unicorns, pegasus, etc... You could breed a unicorn with a pegasus and get a flying unicorn. hehe. There could be all different kinds of unis and pegs and we could have to find the magical ones or something.
I also like the World Tycoon idea and the VV in Space idea. What about Alien Tycoon where you could breed different types of alien creatures together to find the magical ones or something?
BTW, what is Moon Tycoon? I've never heard of that one.

Moon Tycoon. I just downloaded to give it a try. Your building a commuity on the moon. I think its like Sims, but i haven't played it long enough to tell.
My idea for a game is Virtual Villiage, but in a desert setting. A small band of survivors fleeing on the back of camels from their city or town because of an earthquack or fire, into the desert and having to learn to survive. Isloa with sand as far as the eye can see...
