so I got the villagers to start haulling the fresh creek water over to the field of dead flowers but nothing is happening. I have to make each on manually do it, and I've been doing it on and off for a day now. How long does it take for something to happen there? Am I missing something or is this just slow to take effect?

Be patient. Your efforts will pay off. Each villager needs to be shown how to water the field once. Depending on how many villagers are watering, it can take some time.

It took my villagers a day and night after the creek was opened up for the flower field to grow. It was on normal speed the entire time as well. It's so cute when it finally pops up! Well worth the wait. Just hang in - they'll water it enough eventually!

My villagers have to be dragged there each time. They are not repeating the action at all.

My two cents in terms of feedback to the programmers is that this is an area where I need some sort of measure that something is happening. The creek blockage and huts both have a % complete stat, so you know something is happening and the debris on the beach disappears plank by plank so you have some indication that efforts are slowly paying off. Even a pop up saying the field is starting to come back when it's x% done would do it. Otherwise it's starting to feel like a lot of time is passing with nothing happening.

As I said my two cents. Thanks for all the effort in the game.

There are a few things in the game that seem to create t-o-o-o-o much suspense (or maybe frustration?) for people!

They will eventually start doing it on their own. I had villagers trying to water the field before they had creek water so nothing happened. But they'd only do it once then go off, do something else, come back. Same when the creek was open. I didn't MAKE them do it and I had a lovely field of flowers after about 24 hours of waiting and concentrating on other things. I guess as long as you have the population and food supply up there should be at least one or two who are doing it on their own, maybe when you're not looking

Some of these things will take time. Patience is good with this game! Unless you want to up the speed and make EVERYTHING go faster, then you might see results quicker.

When I had builders with nothing to work on after clearing the creek, they were voluntarily working almost full time on watering the field.
