Hey, strange thing keeps happening. My registration code works fine as long as I stay in the game...but as soon as I leave the game, then return...I have to re-enter my registration code...OVER & OVER. This is driving me INSANE! Has this happened to anyone else??

THat was happenning to me, but I was doing a few other 'naughty' things as well (for testing purposes).

Are you doing anything odd when you have exited your game?

Nothing odd at all! Just exit the game normal. It is VERY ANNOYING!

How many times have you had to enter your code? Two of the beta testers encountered this, but it didn't happen over and over and over.

I've entered my code at least 15 times so far & I only bought this game yesterday.

What procedure are you using, exactly to exit and enter the game. Could you tell me exactly what happens when you launch Village Sim (what screens you see and in what order)?

Sure, no problem.

If I just turn off my Palm Zire without leaving the game, the registration code will hold...but, if I leave the game, usually by tapping the home icon on my Zire, then re-enter later...that's when I have trouble.

Whenever I re-enter the game, I tap on the Village Sim icon & the first screen that pops up is always the map screen. As soon as I tap a spot to zoom in, I immediately get a message that says: "the unregistered version is only limited to 7 villagers, so please register". (I currently have 8 villagers) As soon as I go the the menu & re-enter my registration code, the game is fine again...that is, until I decide to exit the game again.

This happened to me when I loaded the non-crash version of the game and tried to use my old save game with it. It told me each time that I re-entered the game that my registration code needed to be entered. I had 65 villagers at the time I saved the game from the previous version, and WAS registered before I loaded the new version. After I reloaded, all my villagers were gone. I went back to the original version of the game and my villagers were there, but my stats were crazy, It said I had a few billion food and had been playing for 5 million hours or so. Also, several of the tech items went away (a couple of the huts and the idol and the stones). I had completed the first 9 puzzles and had all of the tech. I finally deleted everything from the handheld and started over from scratch. Everything was fine then, except for losing the game that was well in progress.

Unfortunately, that can be a consequence of installing a new version of the game. The savegame structure can change in a new version, and the savegame file is not compatible with the new version. We always recommend completely uninstalling the game before installing a new version. The down side to that is that you have to start a new game.
