Barbara, I just turned 18 about a week ago, so no prob there, but I don't really have much testing experience (only when a public beta is released for a program that I'm intersted in). Do you think that I have much of a chance? Also, is there much of a demand for UX50 users?

Carla handles the beta testing, so I think the best you can do is apply and keep your fingers crossed!!

After you apply do you only find out if they "want you" during the next round of beta testing?

Carla will send emails to people who have been selected to beta test a product. If you aren't selected to be a beta tester for a particular release, you won't get an email.

But do they only select people when a new test is needed? Like if they're inbetween testing you wouldn't hear anything?

Right, they don't actually 'recruit' beta testers until they need them. But they keep your information, so that you'll be considered the next time there's a beta test.
