Which gains more skill, examining a hut, or fixing a hut? What if the hut is in "good repair?" If there is no actual statistic, which one have you noticed gained more skill?

I think that fixing hut gieves some skill but not examining hut!
not sure of course \:\/ when the hut is in good repair, normaly that means there is nothing to do so no skill to gain!
Each time one of my builders "examines" a hut I re-put him until he fixes it!

I think laurence is right: "examining" a hut gives no skill at all. If I see a villager "examining", I too will pick him up and drop him on the hut again until the action line says "fixing". This may take two or three goes.

You really don't need to test it. A simple forum search on the word "examining" will do just fine. It's worked this way since waaaaaaay back in Village Sim. \:\)

Only fixing rewards your tribe member. If you continually pick up your villager and drop him on the hut he will fix it. I was able to get my first totem doing this since there was nothing at the time to build.

Yes Fixing the Hut gives skills but Examining the Hut Does not give skills. If you pay attention to a villager when their working, after their done examining the huts it just switches to "nothing" with no message at the bottom, but fixing switched to "nothing" with the " this villager has gained skills" message. so if you see a villager examining pick em up and drop em till it says fixing, certain sides and angles of buildings will give you one or the other.
