In my last game (set to medium) I kept seeing these colourful, "sparkly" things near the cactus towards the end of the game. I thought they meant something, since I'd never seen them before.

I just started a new game set to Hard. I saw these same sparkly things in the field of dead flowers. Anyone have a comment?

They are butterflies! A certain talented villager has the ability to move them around.

No kidding! I knew after the field bloomed in the last game that there were butterflies, but I didn't know they'd appear in the dead field.

Hmmm....I've never seen them before the field is revived. That could be a bug. Do they look like the butterflies, or are they different?

I've noticed them while it was just a bunch of dead flowers. Also on the lagon before it was cleared.

I'm thinking she means the little sparkles that show up on the idol as well.....

There are sparkles on the lagoon and the rock/idol, but those should never show up in the field or near the cactus plants (and those sparkles are white, not colored). The butterflies are colored, and could (I suppose) be described as sparkly, as they do change appearance somewhat as they fly. What type of sparkly thing are we talking about?

I would describe the sparkies by the cactus almost like leaves. I think they looked like the butterflies.

In the dead field there were the same coloured sparklies that could also have been butterflies, but this was at the beginning of the game, and I didn't think the butterflies appeared until after the field bloomed.

The sparkles on the lagoon/idol are completely different.

OK - I just loaded one of my old savegames (after the garden had been restored) and then started a new game. The butterflies are definitely in the dead field - it's a bug.

Here's another glitch - sometimes the harvesters go to the food trough and have nothing in their arms, yet the food count goes up.

yep! But that's a nice glitch. Nothing that will ruin your game!

Barbara, after you did that, if you left and reentered the game, are the butterflies still present?

Wow. How do you save a game?

I copy mine out of my Palm Desktop backup folder and put them in other folders on my PC, but you can also copy them to an expansion card on the Palm using a file manager. You just need to remember to pause the game first, or you'll have dead villagers when you load it again.

Anonymous, there is no 'simple' way to save a game, but if you go into your palm directory on the PC, there is a folder there called Backup. In that folder, there is a file VillageSavegame.PDB.

To keep a backup of a game I do not want to lose, I make a copy of this with a useful name.

When I want to restore a game, I delete the current VillageSavegame.PDB, rename my previously saved file back to VillageSavegame.PDB and then do a hotsync of my palm adding this new file

Hopefully this helps
