Hi Noreale!

First, can I ask what your villager's likes/dislikes are? I only need to know your builder's likes/dislikes.

One doesn't like to run or play so obviously he won't work one doesn't like blue. I just need two more master builders so I can get the gong piece.

When a villager says "no", it can be: "No, I want not" and you may answer: "YES! You must!" ;\)
But also: "No, I don't know how to do. I'm not able" and you may answer: "Yes, you can learn. Try again!" \:\)
If you insist, they'll do it. In building, it may require several attempt.

Actually, he'll probably work better than some others as he won't take so much time off. However, he'll do the work a lot slower than the others. ;\)

How experienced are they? Untrained, trainee, adept? Do they have building checked in their details? To start a new builder off can take several attempts before they learn enough to become trainees. It is usually best to start training them by setting them to fix a hut or repair the loveshack. That's because they don't have to travel far so you can keep an eye on them and drag them back to work if they fail. Once they become a trainee you can put them to work on another task and can usually leave them to get on with it, although most will wander off from time to time for a crafty swim in the pond or whatever.

It sounds like you've got a lazy bunch of villagers there. ;\) At what stage are you? If you've got no "proper" building work for them to do, and have to put them on fixing the huts, then they do tend to get bored easily and wander off.

Do they have nothing to do except fixing hut? At the beginning of the game they are not interesting of that? You must progress in the game, gain some tech points for being able to cutting away the briar thorns with some cutting tools, for example.

(highlight above for spoiler)

the golden child will never grow up

in VV:A New Home, the max population is 90, unless certain events occur, or you have 89 people and then have a multiple birth, you vcannot build more huts to increase the population further

in VV: The Lost Children, building huts is not the key to gaining a population max higher than 90
