Hi all,
I have a tribe that has been running 1988 hours, have all the puzzles solved but not all the collections. I have over a 21 million tech points and 3 million in food, all the housing etc. My people have stopped producing children even though I set them to be parents and continually send them to the hut. Does not matter the age, I am breeding the ones between 18 and 65, (I have has 68 year olds produce in the past) They raise in parent skills, but no new babies for quite a long time. Does the game try to die at some point? Any ideas?

Your villagers need to be older than 18 but younger than 50. I have the feeling that those 68 year olds were a product of an event or the gong. You just need to be patient. \:\)

Your tribe could be at its maximum of population. So you must wait that it decreases a little and they will have other chidren.

Adults can only bear children between the ages of 18 and 50 for vv2,, vv1 its unlimited after 18. I would suggest checking your population because if your at the max then they will not have anymore untill someone dies and makes room, max population for a game without any of the collections finished is 95 and it goes up 5 for every collection you have finished so with 4 collections the max with all finished is 115.

and no your tribes will not try to kill itself, you can have a tribe running for the rest of your life, expecially with the ability to save game files to transfer to new computers.

The max population with no collections completed is 90, not 95.

Women must be at least 18 and no older than 49 to breed. But men can breed from 18 on, as far as I know. I just bred a 72-year-old man with an 18-year-old woman.

Hmmmmm, I was not elaborate enough in the detail. This population was up to 95 but now they are down to 29 and no one seems to be able to produce children even though they are between the ages of 18 and 60...and I had been able to breed people up to the age of 68 (females too!)This is the third tribe I have going, I even hit a population of 115 on one of the other tribes.

It seems that the tribes (when puzzles and tech are completed) have a growth going up to the max and down to 20 or 30 several times in their life! It's what I have noticed with mine.
Did you select some villagers (between 18 and 50 years old for female) on parenting skill?

If you manually try to make them breed, by dropping one villager on another, do they kiss every now and then? Do you get any messages?

I have designated every female and male from 18 to 65 to be parents and have manually tried to breed them continually by dropping them on each other. The message I get is "going inside" but thus no babies. They have plenty of parenting points, food, health points etc...just stalled on the childbearing.
Any more ideas?

Thanks in advance, Angelwomyn

Women aged 50 and over won't have babies (unless you have a special event), so there's not any point in trying with them. I can't think or any reason why those aged 18-49 shouldn't have babies, though. Weird.
