Get started:

Step1-Get 1 villager to fishing, have some trys. When He/She can fish go to step2 or keep trying!He/She can get food.
Step2-Get all the adult villager(not the one you teached fishing) to the reserch table. You might need to try more than 1 times.
Step3-Start the fire.Get some wood and dry leaves and let someone start the fire.
Step4-Let someone learn all the strange plants, the can keep the healthy.

Tips:

-If you are new to the game choose 1/2 speed. They will eat less food but the same work. When you got L2 of food, you can do the 1speed but it's a little bit dangerous!-Put a lot people in the reserch table (not when you bought all techs)
-Watch out for collections!Sometimes they can give you tech points.
-Don't make babies until you bought L2Food or L2Build.
-(At start)If you have more than 200 food, you don't need to worry about food now.
-If you just start the game when you are not playing PAUSE it.
Thanks arnie laurence and others for helping me!

Don’t forget the fire and the strange plants, you need it to keep your villagers healthy.

At the very beginning, I choose 2x speed until 3 of the oldest children grow up to 14 years old. And so, when I have only 2 kids, I go on ½ speed.

I stay in 1/2 speed, because I don't like to see my villagers become elderly and I try to make it the latest I can!

I start the game on normal speed as the villagers eat less food than on 2x speed. They can usually build up a good store of food quite quickly. Once I've over 500 I'll put my farmer on another job; the kids usually keep the food topped up by finding mushrooms. It's important to remember to put the farmer back if I leave the game, though; otherwise the villagers are in danger of starving without any mushrooms from the kids.

The figure of 500 is only to provide a safe margin. A lower figure would probably work perfectly well, but it's better to be safe than sorry. I'll keep watch over the food counter and if it shows signs of dipping very far below 500 I'll put back the farmer.

Once I've built the dam I'll switch to 2x speed. The villagers won't have so long for the first crops to appear, and they usually have the first baby about then. I can't stand waiting for the two hours it takes for a baby to stop nursing, let alone four hours on normal speed!

I'll generally play on 2x speed for the rest of the game until I've completed all the puzzles. Around then I'll start another game which means I can't give this game so much attention. At that time I'll switch back to normal speed.

It is very different from what I do! I find the reserves decrease too quickly in 2x speed, especially the 1 or 2 first days. Do you play in normal or hard difficulty? I have played 6 tribes in hard mode but now I prefer the normal mode, it's less "stressful" \:\/
My villagers usually have babies just before I quit the game. So I don't have to wait 400 mn (it's the time for nursing in ½ speed)!! \:\)

Generally I play in normal or easy. I've played in hard, but it is just too HARD!

Yes, very hard! At the beginning we can't practically quit the game until we get the level 3 of farming! All the time chasing after mushrooms

The first thing I do when someone turns 14 is take them around the the 6 plants and make them learn a little bit about healing.

I gues it's sort of a "birthday present"...happy birthday LEARN THIS NOW! ha ha ha

That way everyone can heal a little bit and no one gets really really sick. I once had all but one sick and I had to drag that one around until he learned something so he could heal the rest of the people-most of whom had some skill at healing. That guy must have loved his new medical profession-he became my first ever "Master Doctor" : )

Just a thought...

\:\) I do the same with my 14 years old villagers! When I quit the game I select two villagers as doctors (one doctor could be sick himself, so it's better to have 2!) because if they are not select as healer they don't heal anybody by their own, you have to bring them for doing that \:\( After the villagers are selected, I put them on a task as farming or research, etc and they'll do it! And so I may leave them and be quite. If all my villagers have any healing skill, it's easier to choose the 2 healers!

You don't need to take them around to teach them the plants to make them a healer. You can take any child, even a 2 year old and place them on someone who is sick. May have to do it a few times to get them "trained" but then they will heal. I often take the youngest child and have them heal when there are epidemics. By the time they turn adult they're Adept and close to Master.

Also, if everyone is sick, you can still heal. Just place a sick person on another and one will probably heal up, then use that one to heal everyone else.

Thanks for the tip!
