No time pressure?? Have you played this game? I dont sleep very well now that this game is out.

No stress? Hmm..I almost had to start over because all the children were boys. I just got 2 girls before the elderly women died off.

No violence? Does that include me? I was about to break my Zodiac because my crops are growing!!

Hehe..anyway, excellent game!! I test software for a living, and it's nice to see a high quality game on a pda.

This is my first post and first ldw game.

This game is something. My crops started growing just when my food was near zero. This is not the first time either. Is this game programmed to do that? A suspense effect?

It's all in your timming. My crops came up and I was still getting fruit from the bush, so it just depends on how you play your game. The first time I played (off the tutorial) I had to many babies eating my food, which made my villagers die of starvation. The second time, no stinken kids until I got the garden in, and that helped bunches!

Yeah, having babies before the farm is no good. I just wish another whale would appear.

Whale? I've not heard or seen that yet. What will they think of next. Wait a tick, where are all the birds? Shouldn't an Island have birds? hmmmmm

Good things happen if you don't kill the whale!

There are a ton of island events...some of us on the beta team haven't even seen them all yet...

As far as the birds go, they're there. The question is whether we want them to come or not...as if we have any choice in the matter

Oh, no, don't worry! If you have a *stable* village, it won't be a problem.

@Arthur - Thanks. Was lazy, so I stole one of the village people. Hmm..that didn't sound right.

@JustAGirl - Thanks. I'm very close..my crops are growing later and later, and my people are getting very weak. Just need 11k tech points for harvest 3...please please let it happen. I just need one boy and a girl.

Weee! My zodiac bashing days are over, I got harvest level 3. Now I'm getting tons of food.

I'm gonna get fired at work if I keep playing this game.

Of course! After 110 hours of playing, my last original castaway died. He was only 66.

Well, technically he should of been 102 when he died. He ate a magical berry at 48 that turned him into a 12 year old boy.

haven't seen the magical berry yet, just the vials of liquid that do the same thing.

LOL. Yes I did. I'm glad they did not come before I had the second level of harvesting or I might have been in big trouble.

I'm really bad at work about wanting to play. I'll be in the middle of doing something and think "gee, I wonder how my villagers are doing?!?" and get a huge urge to grab my Palm and check. But, I'm in the middle of training new people, so doing that while I'm teaching might be a bad idea! lol

I wish! Can you imagine that training class?

"Okay now people, we're going to learn to have fun with an inventive and addictive game! Please take out your Palms and lets get some villagers breeding!"

*Pthhhhhhhbt* Yeah, I'm sitting at work and playing with my Sony Clie instead of writing a report due in like a week.
Barely slept... worrying about the silly villagers... I cut it close.

Here's my story so far:
Day1:
2 on science, 3 berry picking, 1 builder. They seemed pretty happy so at 700 food units, I asked them to "go forth and be fruitful!" They made a cute baby girl ...
They started to consume fruit a lot more! So I kept dragging them to pick berries and not idle, as I was at work, and at 1200 units, the silly berry tree ran out of berries! OMG!
So I put the remaining two idling farmers to science... and lo! At 149 food units left, they got Harvesting Level 2 for their hard work (and my grey hair!)!!!

Day2:
One builder eventually finished the first hut in 24 hours... or less - amazing. So now, they seem to be pretty happy going along... but my batteries on my Sony is running dangerously low, and I have to rush off to work where I left my charger... coz I thought: "Hey! It runs real time, I shouldn't have to watch them every minute... right?" ...
*WRONG* Now I gotta give the girl running around something to do or play with. *sigh*

To be continued...

If you are worried that you will miss out on the fun, pause the game. It is a lot less stressful doing this, rather coming back to the game to find that the villagers hadn't quite understood what you expected them to do, and are are starving, or worse still.....dead
