I loved the first VV, and just purchased VV2 less than a week ago and have already finished it (after playing obsessively.... no seriously, I even called out "sick" from work one day partly so I could play for hours on end!)

That being said, I am holding my breath for VV3 and hope that a VV4 is also in the works soon, so that obsessive fans like myself don't have to wait months after finishing one game to get the next.

I liked VV2 better than the first for several reasons, which I hope the developers will add on to as they work on VV3. Here are some suggestions for what I'd like to see in VV3:

-I love the concept of Esteemed Elders, but it is very very difficult to get someone to become one. Perhaps in the future, Elder status can be given to someone who masters 2 trades, or has at least halfway mastered all 5 trades.

-Speaking of mastery, I would like to see the skill bars with markings so that you can know the villager's progress and how far s/he is away from being a trainee, adept, or master of a trade.

-Please make the area of play BIGGER... include more trees, plants, bodies of water to explore, and more obstacles. Until you've reached the end of the game and have built everything, and have some totems and whatnot, the center of the village is sparse with hardly anything going on.

-I love the idea others have said about allowing villagers to option of finding, training, and keeping pets. Having some animals roaming around the village that can be domesticated by degrees is a really neat idea. I do not, however, think hunting should be added as a type of food gathering. But more variety of the fish they can gather would be neat... more types of fish (worth different amounts of food points), lobsters, jellyfish, etc would be cool.

-If you make the ocean extend out further into deeper water, it would be great to have the option of building boats for master farmers to use, then they can learn to fish with nets, etc.

-It's unfortunate VV2 did not include a school for the children. Until the child reaches age 14, they should have to go to school and get a "progress" bar for their education just like adults get progress bars for their various trades.

-Despite claims that VV2 would have more diversity of characters, with new clothes, and resemblance to their parents, I didn't find this to be true WHATSOEVER. In fact, I think VV2 actually took a step back from what VV1 had in terms of villagers' appearances. I have often bred 10 kids at a time and have 5 of them be born with IDENTICAL faces and hair, some even have identical clothes. So... MUCH GREATER diversity in clothing, faces, hairstyles, skin colors, etc would be awesome. Plus, a bunch of the characters in VV2 are just downright ugly, LOL... with huge egg heads, bulging eyes, weird hair, etc. I didn't care for that at all.

-I definitely think either the nursing time should be shortened for pregnant women, or they should be allowed to do something besides nurse while pregnant. Perhaps not full out working, but maybe sewing clothes for the sewing hut, or painting walls in the village, etc. Along that line, more options for customizing the appearance of the village would be cool.

-I definitely like the idea of changing weather, which bad weather affecting how the villagers act in different ways.

-Most importantly, one of things I like most about these games is the choice to make one decision over another when those questions pop up, like opening a crate or not, etc. I would like to see a diversity of these questions come up much more frequently.

I'm sure there's lots more I can think of, but I'll stop here!
