Regarding kids picking stuff up:

You should have to direct a kid to pick up any new item (including mushrooms with different food values). That way you keep the challenge in finding collections.

With very young children, aged 2 to 4, they should be instructed each time to pick stuff up. You have to do that with kids that age in real life, right?

When the child turns 5, they can begin to pick up items near them on their own. Anything that's not new, that is.

maybe the children could play in the sand on the beach, or they can watch their parents do stuff.

I think if we give VV3 access to the 2 other villages, it kinda ruins the point of purchasing VV1 and VV2. \:o

And to LDW, you should definantly keep the stews and clothes hut. That way, your villagers can still have a passion for fashion! \:D \:D \:D \:D \:D

I like the ideas of having a school, a daycare and having the villagers build an outhouse (cause obviously they can't have plumbing LOL). Maybe in addition to finding butterflies and beetles, the children could find those bugs that light up so the scientists could study them and find a way to make some kind of light (other than using fire torches or whatever). I also love the idea of the villagers having pets. Dogs and cats would be neat to have on the island. I also like the idea of the children building their own toys and stuff. Maybe we could have someone who was good at sewing and that person could make the children some stuffed animals with plants they found on the island (something kind of like cotton perhaps).

the idea of having VV3 visit vv2 and vv1 island is not to discover the old tribes but to gain the ability to expand and explore other sorces of food and new puzzels. You can only keep poeple in one place for so long before we get smart and learn to explore. The more villagers you have the more room your gonna need, so enough the villagers will learn how to make a boat. you`ll see in Virtual Villagers XXIII. LOL

I love the idea of sandcastles on the beach, somebody once suggested that but its too far back in the forums to quote or find. That would be so cute having them do that.
