I recently finished my first village. I bought VV1 when it first came out and have had the same village for more than a year (with a few months of not doing anything, and playing until I had just the GC left). I wanted a new challenge so I began a new one with no fishing, difficulty hard. The problem is that I cannot sustain a village of more than 10 people! The food always runs out and when I can get a villager pregnant, the GC won't come. I have all building and spirituallity tech and the temple and the statue is complete. Any help?

It doesn't surprise me that you can't sustain more than 10 villagers on a "no fishing hard village." Even on the normal difficulty setting, the farm can't support more than about 12-15 villagers, and the hard setting is...well...hard!

I think the main difficulty that you're having is that the GC doesn't just appear in VV1, unlike they way it worked in Village Sim. It's been so long since you last played that you may have forgotten that you have to do something to get the GC in VV1. To keep from turning this into a spoiler thread, I'll simply recommend that you consult the Guide Section at the bottom of the forum for help if you've forgotten exactly what you need to do.

I changed the difficulty back to normal, we'll see how this helps things. I remember how to make the special person, the villagers just got to get some food in their stomachs first!
